Member Teriander Posted January 3, 2016 Member Report Share Posted January 3, 2016 Ok, In the Retopo room, Under Commands, I select "Import", Pick my obj, a dialog warning about mesh size and press cancel to continue, I then get a message "Place the object then press enter". But that is as far as I can get. I do not see my object to place it. Clicking anywhere in the scene does nothing. Pressing enter does nothing. How do I actually place my new 3D Object that I just imported?
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted January 3, 2016 Contributor Report Share Posted January 3, 2016 Greetings and welcome to the 3D Coat community. From what you write it sounds that your models pivot or model is not centred / aligned to 0,0,
Member Teriander Posted January 3, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted January 3, 2016 Thanks for responding. My object's pivot is exactly 0,0,0. Importing for Painting and it loads correctly. Importing for retopo, and I'm told to "Place the object then press enter" but nothing happens.
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted January 3, 2016 Contributor Report Share Posted January 3, 2016 Press enter , or you can upload the model so we can test it for you.
Member Teriander Posted January 3, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted January 3, 2016 Actually, let me ask you. When importing for the Retopo room, should it load the model under the "VoxTree" list, or the "Retopo Objects" list? Because when I import my obj via Retopo import, it puts my object into a new "Retopo Object". This is not what I want, as the retopo object should be the new geometry I am painting. Is that accurate? Contributor Solution Michaelgdrs Posted January 3, 2016 Contributor Solution Report Share Posted January 3, 2016 It loads it as an already low poly (retopo) model. File import reference mesh is then what you need.
