Member Benshes Posted April 10, 2020 Member Report Share Posted April 10, 2020 I made the model and the normal map in Blender and am now importing those in 3D Coat (as .obj), but after I apply a smart material on the object there are some weird stretches happening as you can see in the following picture. The normal map I am importing + UV Map + Mesh looks as follows: I Does anybody know if there is some way to fix this problem directly in 3D Coat or if I have to change the mesh or the normal map in blender? Thanks in advance for the help.

Member Benshes Posted April 10, 2020 Author Member Report Share Posted April 10, 2020 Hi Carlosan Changing the projection to UV-Mapping did the job for me. Thanks a lot!
Member Mzone3d Posted April 15, 2020 Member Report Share Posted April 15, 2020 @Benshes Just a quick tip on your unwrap. Unwrap the rims of the barrel so they are straight! they are round at the moment, and take up almost half your texture page. Ive done a quick screenshot sketch to show you how it could look. you need to maximise UV space so you can show off the extra details made in 3d Coat Also, in this video link, the guy explains unwrapping very well. this is in 3ds max, but the principles are the same for blender. Hope it helps
