Member Hotshot Posted May 3, 2020 Member Report Share Posted May 3, 2020 Hi everyone, I do not come from a computer/modelling/art background. I have been self teaching myself how to model and texture for video games so this is all very new to me. I recently picked up 3D coating as my texturing software as it is very intuitive, in my opinion. There are 2 things that I'm currently stumped on: 1. I made an outfit, pic3 is how the UV should look like. When I load the OBJ of the outfit in 3D Coat it looks like pic4. Why is the shirt completely missing and just a few of the meshes show up? 2. When I texture the mesh, in the preview it looks very detailed, but when I fill the layer, it looks very blurry. I did uncheck "show voxels in paint room", but the problem continues. Would appreciate any help.Thanks.
Carlosan
Hello Could you post your import settings ? Try to use all the UV space, the image shows a lot of wasted space. Optimize the shell space to get better use of space, so you have more room to improve the resolution of the textures. related...
Member Hotshot Posted May 3, 2020 Author Member Report Share Posted May 3, 2020 I took your suggestion and spread out the UV as you said, unfortunately I ended with the same result.

Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted May 4, 2020 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 4, 2020 Can you click on those uv islands to select them, the use the blue gizmo to manualy resize and rotate them to fill the uv square. ( just trying to do it from memory I dont do this sort of thing much.)
