Advanced Member Paint Guy Posted July 28, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 28, 2009 Just watched a video on Kurv Studios. In 3DCoat can you paint a mask on parts of the model so it is not affected by painting or sculpting like you can in ZBrush. I think this would be very helpful. Advanced Member ghib Posted July 29, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 29, 2009 +100 from me. I've been giving the new hide tool a trial to see what I could come up with and I was really thinking it would be much more useful to have Masking ability instead. 3DC already has the Freeze tool so something similar to that (Although the freeze tool currently has a bug where it's not 100% - some information still bleeds through the mask)
Advanced Member micro26 Posted July 29, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 29, 2009 you can create a new layer paint for mask and then right click the layer and select freeze transparent pixels or freeze painted pixels. Hope it helps
