Advanced Member ShnitzelKiller Posted August 19, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 19, 2009 Right now I had to split the part I didn't want the shape to cut through and merge it again after I used the lasso to cut a hole through the front shell. There's gotta be an easier way to extrude, inward as well as outward. Any ideas?

Advanced Member ShnitzelKiller Posted August 19, 2009 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 19, 2009 Use a curve, hold Cntrl while pressing Enter. Oh, thanks. I didn't know you could fill curves. I just wish the handles were easier to manipulate; after you add them, you can't slide them on the surface anymore, but have to use those transform widgets. I like the way the splines in painting work (especially the right click scaling), and would love for these to be the same way. It's easy to accidentally add a point on the curve when you miss a widget D: EDIT: I just discovered what happens when you hold control with the move tool... if you're using a solid brush, then movement along the surface normal is pretty useful for simple shaped holes / bumps. It's pretty cool that it can detect surface normal at all, being a voxel.
