Applink Developer haikalle Posted April 26, 2010 Applink Developer Report Share Posted April 26, 2010 I installed ubuntu 9.04 64bit on my computer and then downloaded the latest NVIDIA drivers 195.36.15. I'm not able to use 3d-coat 3.02.10 at all. What happens is when I try to pick a default voxel sphere. The screen flicks couple times and then 3d-coat window will close. Is 3d-coat expected to work in 9.04 anymore. Only reason why I'm using it is that houdini works well in that system.
SERGYI
Hello. I encountered with that problem several weeks ago under Fedora 12 (64 bit) with NVIDIA drivers 195.36.15. After investigation it was clear, that was bug in the driver version 195.36.15. I submitted appropriate post on NVIDIA forums a week ago. http://developer.nvidia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4540

New Member Paul Nendick Posted June 7, 2010 New Member Report Share Posted June 7, 2010 Hello, I'm seeing this very same problem using the same driver version but on Ubuntu 10.04. Is it possible to expect a fix or workaround from 3D-Coat devs? There's seemingly no response from NVIDIA on this one. Regards, Paul
Advanced Member pbowmar Posted June 8, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 8, 2010 Yup same issue for me: OpenGL renderer string: Quadro FX 4800/PCI/SSE2 OpenGL version string: 3.2.0 NVIDIA 195.36.15 on Centos 5.2 64bit. Unfortunately, I bet Nvidia won't fix it anytime soon
SERGYI
Hello! We received answer about two weeks ago by email from NVIDIA engineer, that they found the problem and fixed it in the upcoming driver update. Until next release, please use any driver except 195.36.15 and 195.36.24.
