Member Swine Posted January 2, 2008 Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 When I load an image as a pen it is grayscale. How do I make it color? Is there a way to use a seamless tileable texture as a pen, and have it tile seamlessly while painting? If not, then I would like to request that as a feature. Thanks. This is already available as the material feature. The image in the pen is greyscale because it is used as an alpha for the pen to apply your chosen color, specular, depth, etc. I would strongly recommend you read the user manual, it covers all of these features and many more and is available for download on the same page as the download link for the application. -Oliver
Andrew Shpagin
Yes, you can use materials as Oliver described. But I should tell that tens also can contain color data. Every pen has 5 layers: color, specular, opacity, depth, erase mask. All of them could be edited in external editor (like PS).
Member Swine Posted January 2, 2008 Author Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 I would strongly recommend you read the user manual... @Oliver Is that the same manual that says "A pen can be in color, provided the image contains an alpha channel" and shows pictures of pens with color? Looks like I'm not the only one who needs to read the manual. @Andrew Thanks, now I understand what I was doing wrong with the pens.
Andrew Shpagin
yes, grammar is our weak point... We have fixed that part of manual. Please, if you will se something awful in manual or text please write it in Support->Grammar pinned topic.
Member Swine Posted January 7, 2008 Author Member Report Share Posted January 7, 2008 Andrew, I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that there was anything wrong with the grammar. I was just pointing out that Oliver was telling me to read the manual, when apparently he hasn't read it himself.
