Member ekunzendorf Posted October 4, 2010 Member Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Hello! One of my students has a retopo mesh that vanishes when symmetry across X is engaged. 3DC is trying to apply symmetry from the empty side. How do I get it to switch symmetry sides? Excelsior! philnolan3d
For symmetry to work you have to build on the +X side of the model. I can tell from the description that the student was building on the -X side. If it's already done and would be too much work to redo it I think the only option would be to export the Retopo mesh from the Retopo menu, open it in another program like LightWave, flip it to the other side, then in 3DC clear the retopo mesh out and import the one you flipped. I bow to your 3D Coat superiority sir! Excelsior! Eric Kunzendorf Jacksonville University users.ju.edu/ekunzen
