memory update question

Hi,

i started a work with voxel painting and a ram of 2Go.

begining to be unstable, i bouogh 2Go more.

now i work with 4Go ram.

i re-opened my last work and i see on the down left side of the screen, no change about Free memory , (was around 900Mb like when i started with 2Go).

is it something i must customize ?

Depends on the operating system, here is a chart:

But even if the limit of memory usage for a process is fixed to 2GB your system has a benefit from 4GB. The other 2GB are then left for other processes.

I don't know what those numbers mean anyway, I'm almost constantly having around 20Gb of free memory... I didn't see a real change when I tried to up res large amount my voxel volumes...
