Draw with Spline tool - enhancements (mainly)

some more feature requests (as of 2.05beta1):

- Draw with Spline tool...add the option of 'to square' in addition

to the 'to circle' where it would select the most likely points as

candidates for corners (based from percentage between first and

and last point?) and then line up points in-between in 90-degree

lines off those points. I could see also being able to select the

corners manually via some hotkey and using that as a basis for square

as well, which would open up the option of rectangular or trapezoidal

shapes as well.

- Option to 'Close Spline' with the Draw with Spline tool ... I like the

added power of this tool over just using the 'Draw with Lines' or

'Draw with Curves' option on the pen tool for some things, but it

would be nice to create closed spline curves with it too.

- Some more attention to the 'Soft Stroke' option...still seems to

leave sporadic marks (although for the most part, it now seems to stop

when letting off of the left-mouse button--haven't tried tablet yet).

It might also be a good option for the user to set how 'soft' the

stroke will be in a range from almost no softness (like normal stroke)

to highly controlled softness (the user's stroke is highly smoothed

out).

Also, really nice work with the additional allowance of higher polys, Andrew!

It results in better texture exports all around. Adaptive geometry seems

to be a great addition as well!

In regard to the measure tool, did you have some suggestions as to how best

to use it? I found it to be handy in measuring depth of previous displacements

(good to get close to same depth, if necessary) but wondered if you had some

additional ideas about it's usage?

Anyhow, great job on the continual improvement of 3d-brush!

Now I am working over spline improvements. Will do at least closed curves and sharp edges. I paln to do 2 buttons like "Make sharp" and "Make soft" to mark some points like sharp or soft.

I posted this in another thread, but thought I should post here too in case you missed it.

Would you be able to add the ability to erase with the 'Draw with Spline' tool?

(this can already be mostly done with the eraser tool and 'Paint with Spline', but I think

adding it as a functional checkbox in 'Draw with Spline' titled 'Erase with Spline'

or something would add the ability to use Spacing, which could be quite powerful

in the creation of inorganic linework/detail.)

I think to add checker "[x] Erase with spline" or droplist Draw/erase/freeze. I am not sure that "freeze/unfreeze with spline" is useful...
