Member xrok1 Posted January 29, 2008 Member Report Share Posted January 29, 2008 mask by UV groups or sets i'm not sure what you call them but you can see the colored zones in my attachment. i'd like the ability to select only 1 colored area at time to apply textures to. Member xrok1 Posted February 2, 2008 Author Member Report Share Posted February 2, 2008 i thought of a couple more valuable things that could enhance the excellent layer masking: 1. collapse (bake) layer mask, so the masking results become a permanent part of the layer 2. soft edge layer mask by a slider value: this way the mask edges could fade out (blend smoothly with underlying layers)

Good propose. 2. Do you mean smooth masking layer? There is command "Smooth the whole layer" in "Commands"
Member xrok1 Posted February 3, 2008 Author Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 i mean smooth (blend) just the edges of the masking on the layer useing the mask. like a fade in or fade out effect. it would be like making a copy of a layer1 smoothing it, then drawing on layer2 while using the smoothes layer1 for the mask.
