    • I was able to do a screen recording with AMD Adrenalin software. Here is a short clip that shows Select/Transform not working in the X axis after Reset Axis with Symmetry on in the X axis. Sorry I don't have a mic. x-axis_transform.mp4
    • Ok, I try this, thx
    • Thanks for posting AbnRanger, I don't have software for recording videos, but I found this earlier post of yours: I will give it a try when I reinstall the latest update.
    • If the development cannot reproduce the same steps, it's much more difficult to diagnose issues someone may be having. I have had the same thing happen a few times, where I reported what I thought was a bug, but Andrew wasn't able to confirm (repeat the same problem) on his end. As it turns out, it is sometimes an issue with Windows or something outside 3DCoat that is causing a problem. One time, I couldn't use 3DCoat at all and I was pretty upset about it. I tried everything I could think of and nothing helped. Andrew couldn't reproduce the same problem and couldn't really help me find a solution.  My Anti-Virus and Windows Firewall had not given me any problems with 3DCoat in the past, so I excluded those from possible culprits...but, I was wrong. I decided to go back and make sure that 3DCoat was added to their Exclusion (leave this app alone) lists and somehow that fixed the problem. My Anti-Virus app (AVAST) had suddenly started interfering with 3DCoat's operation and made it a virtual Crashfest. I also had a long-standing problem with the CTRL-SHIFT menu in the Sculpt workspace. For a long, long time, when I would hold down the SHIFT + CTRL buttons, it would work as expected with the first stroke, but on subsequent strokes, 3DCoat would switch to the INVERSE action of the brush...almost as if the SHIFT button was no longer being pressed, but only the CTRL key. I reported this to Andrew multiple times and he couldn't help because it was not happening on his side. I tested on other computers and that behavior does not happen on them. So, something on that system is making it behave this way and I have never figured it out. With all of that said, the best way to get a quick resolution 99% of the time, is to try and record a video of the issue happening if possible. It's like being in a 3D animation class (in the lab) in a University and asking the instructor to help you with an issue. The first thing he/she is going to do is ask you to show the problem on your PC screen while they observe. Just sitting there and explaining the problem without "showing" them is not going to be very helpful. Would you tell the instructor "It's not my responsibility to show you what the problem is...it's your job to figure it out on your own"...? No, you wouldn't. It would be instinctive for you to show them, because you know that letting them see the problem firsthand is the best and quickest way to get a resolution. It's no different with 3DCoat or any software for that matter. When I have an issue with Camtasia Studio, I take the same steps for the very same reason. I record a video showing the problem and post it on their Tech Support forum, and it usually doesn't take long before I get a solution from them.
    • Hi Carlson, For now I want to keep going through the videos with version 2024.15. When I'm done I will reinstall 2024.31 and post some screen shots. The issues I mentioned were when creating the legs, mirroring them and trimming the bottoms with the knife tool. I probably spent an hour or two fiddling trying to get it to work before I installed version 2024.15. After I installed 2024.15 I had no more issues and pretty much kept pace with the video.
    • Once in a while i get into forums to see if there is any change in direction. surprise surprise same old things. people trying to use 3Dcoat but it is too unstable to use. Wanna know a secret? when i told them about my crashes i got the same answer " I can't replicate".
    • Hi Thanks for point it up, but I can't replicate Could you please grab a video showing the issues ? Thanks !
    • I was trying to follow this 3D Coat training video on YouTube, and it was a struggle to follow with the numerous issues in version 2024.31. I installed the version used in the videos, 2024.15, and it made a world of difference. A couple of the nagging issues in 2024.31 include the finicky mirroring that would sometimes work and other times not, and random polygroups created when using the knife tool.
    • I am still pushing for changes, too, such as unification/merging of PAINT & RETOPO/MODELING meshes, so the workflow and UX is less complicated, confusing (ie. 2 different workspaces with UV tools) and consolidated. However, one of your long time requests is to add Quad-Sculpting to the Sculpt workspace, and in my view that would not help the UX...but would only make it more complicated and hard to use with yet another mesh type/platform in the Sculpting environment (Voxels/Dynamic Subdivision of Tris/Quad Mesh.). It might beneficial to your specific workflow, but that may not be the case for most 3DCoat users, who could benefit from the development effort used in other areas. Personally, I have never run into a situation where I thought "if only I could sculpt with quads right now." I can sculpt whatever I need to, from the earliests block out/rough stages, all the way through the uber high frequency detail stages. Sometimes I encounter holes in the Surface mesh, but I can usually fix those quickly with the tools that are available to do so (Clean Clay, Close Holes, etc.). Voxels are fantastic for early to intermediate stages of a sculpt, especially with the newer Clay Brushes. Surface Mode is perfect for Intermediate - Late stages of a sculpt, where topological flow (of quad meshes) doesn't really add much (if any) benefit, IMHO. Therefore, for me and I think most 3DCoat users, development time would be better spent consolidating meshes (and Workspaces) to simplify the workflow and make it more efficient + easier to learn. I also think the Paint Workspace needs some love, to make it more competitive with Substance Painter. With all of that said, there have indeed been a lot of changes to improve the UI/UX since V4.9x, and those were mentioned in my previous posts. The Layer/Clipping Masks addition is actually quite HUGE! That has been requested for several years, and it not only works for Low poly/UV mapped meshes (Paint Objects), but also for Vertex & Voxel Painting. Nobody else offers Volumetric painting, let alone Photoshop style Layer Masks to be used with it! People have also requested the Viewport Navigation Gizmo (like other Major 3D apps have had for a while), and that has been quite handy. The Activity Bar is another major improvement that I don't even see in other applications. There has also been periodic performance improvements, quietly included in various builds (one very recently). The Tweak room tools were consolidated into the Paint Workspace. It's not a major new improvement, but it makes access of those tools easier and more convenient. There was the addition of the Minimalist layout, easily accessed/toggled via the TAB hotkey. It doesn't get any more cleaner and uncluttered than that. Tools/panels can be quickly accessed by hotkey, SpaceBar Menu or via the Activity Bar. The Retopo/Modeling tools have been steadily improved. Why does Andrew and the other developers get no credit for any of this work?
    • Got answer relatively quickly when I contacted sales@3dcoat
    • Hello! Here are all the company's contacts. https://pilgway.com/page/contacts
    • Hi, I send you several mails bc of license questions but get no answer, which email is correct, I tried sales@pilgway.com and support@oilgway.com
    • Hi all & Happy New Year Paint Room It would be great if the paint room got some additional love in the form of a few more paint tools - Easily add Transparency/Alpha to a painted/masked region not just object based and not to have to mess around with Layer 0 Colour Curves Gradient Tool - Needs better control with stop points at either end to better control the gradient region - this could be such a powerful tool especially as you can already add textures/depth images but needs better controls More Procedural noise types Paint Effects such as spray paint & directional blur Mask Generators & Builders- Based on axis, Leaks, Dripping etc - similar to those in Substance Painter UV Room UDIM creation Thanks
    • Thanks for the info - Happy New Year to you & your family
