  1. I was away for some time, just seen your post. To avoid the problem you can try (one of them) 1) use texture baking toot and project high poly model onto your low poly medel and get non-distorted textures 2) load model without smoothing 3) Use uv-set smoothing option during the import I think (1) is the best.

  4. Yeah, that frog is detailed well. The only thing - I think that specularity on the face should vary, not be almost a constant. About Mac - peoples has told me that 3DB works under Cross Over office.

  6. 1. sure you are right. It is not so important, but may be I will fix it. 2. There is special mode when brush radius is not dependent on pressure. May be it can help. I know, you mean other feature, I will think if it possible to do...
  7. No, it works in almost every mode. You should choose the prossure dependence and this box will appear.
  8. I have turned it off because it produces more bugs than adds something useful. Anyway, every face is divided adaptively on micropolygon level (iven in standart subdivision). The only difference between usual and adaptive subdivisions mid-poly mesh is produced in different ways. In general, I think that you have lost only extra bugs with adaptive subdivision. Actually, no quality or functionality was not lost. Maybe I will get it back when it will be less buggy.
  9. It seems that you are using Vista and maybe you are logged not like administrator and access to "Progam Files" is limited, so 3DB is not able to save options. So you can do one of the next things: 1) Log in with admonistrative rights 2) Install 3DB into another folder (for example d:\3D-Brush\ )
  10. Press ~ to pop up special window to vary params. use hotkeys [],+() to resize, change depth and rotate pen Also you can use mouse wheet to wary most parameters (come to potions)

  12. ok, good idea about changing pen shape. for now, I have renewed the download link, I have fixed several issues that seem to be important. - baking tool issue - sometimes lags was posible - merve visible layers work well (works now in any case) - sticking cursor to scroller fixed http://www.3d-brush.com/files/3d-brush-2-07-beta3A-en.exe
  13. Thanks for comments! Layers merging is a real problem. In general, it is impossible to merge 2 layers with essentially different blending options. or example modulate acts not only on the lower layer but on other as well. So merging only 2 layers will cause a problem. Merge visible - it is other question. It is possible. But in 3DB merge visible means merging all layers but 0. So if Layer 0 is fully covered, Merge visible will work well. Cavity - I have idea of Drop - slider: when you will direct mouse over the cavity scale slider, other slider will appear below. View & textures - I plan to do it together with merging objects, because these things are joined. Import uv-set with the same geometry - even without baking, the only request - meshes should have exactly the same topology, but different uv-sets.
  14. The shape is very good! Have you used sculpt tool or only painting? Of cause skin details should be add to get great effect.
  15. It seems that you have turned off the additive mode in depth palette. Turn it on and you will get the expected result.

  17. The longer pause was only because of too many changes. Naming things have not taken time. So we can continue :) :lol: Also I still have not removed 2 colors in fill tool because I don't know how to get colors for gradient. Anyway I need 4 colors in the case of gradient+color modulation.
  18. Hi all! At least we can talk not only about the new name of 3D-Brush. 2.07 BETA3 is done. It is huge peace of work. Many changes in interface and workflow conception. I have made many improvements to make freeze work more realtime. So, the list of changes: 1) Menu is completely reorganised, File, Layers, Freeze are changed much. 2) Many new layer adjustments are done 3) All of them have realtime previews and ability to apply not only to current layer but also to all layers. 4) Ability to hide/show/lock/rename materials and sub-objects 5) Navigation controls for grids. You can snap to rotated grids and rotate grids with constraints (SHIFT) 6) Pen falloff is done. You can select "Focal shift" or "Falloff" like preferred control in options. 7) Conditions prewiew menu. You can switch between color and B/W preview You can export/import one layer or all layers into PSD file with padding. 9) Now you can erase with curves 10) ... freeze with curves 11) ... Planarize with curve 12) ... paint absolute height - compare with usual painting (second picture) 13) The default interface is light, but you can switch dark style immediately after loading 14) All lines are antialiased 15) Pen opacity preview is recovered 16) Freeze/select has become much more powerful and should fork much faster The link is below http://www.3d-brush.com/files/3d-brush-2-07-beta3A-en.exe

  20. Sorry, it seems that there is some bug. I have checked my current version and there is another picture: Today I will upload the new version (still beta) and it will fix issue.
  21. I think it should be the final name Coat means "to cover something with a layer of a particular substance" so it well correspods to what 3D-Brush makes. Please tell if you like the new name. Today we had a conversation with lawyers, so we really need to change the name. There is no chance to remain the name 3D-Brush. I was slightly angry on all that laws and trademrks... So, we must do it quickly. Of cause, logo will be made in 3D, like 3D-Brush
  22. I can add wheel sopport for sliders or drop boxes, but the problem that anyway the text "Depth, Smoothing, Focal depth, Falloff,..." requires some space anyway and box with the number should be placed in right of the text. So it will take the same space like sliders.
  23. Now you can change texture size in Commands->Change texture and mesh resolution. Really, it is not very convenient, I will add the drop-list directly into the baking tool dialog.
  24. I think to add checker "[x] Erase with spline" or droplist Draw/erase/freeze. I am not sure that "freeze/unfreeze with spline" is useful...
