  1. I'm not adding anything to this discussion, but jedwards is right about one point: the more we test the beta with different workflow and approach in more varied context, the more bugs get spotted quickly. [EDIT] Well it seems I'm not the only one
  2. I don't see the point a beta is a beta, you have to expect bugs, besides, you can always roll back to an older builds. What would be beneficial thought is to sometime say 'ok this beta has been thoroughly tested by users, there's no showstopping bug, lets call it "stable". This is not a RELEASE, it's a stable version. That would avoid having new users comming here and saying "I saw that particular video, but I can't find that function on the current version on the website". No ?
  3. Well that's a naming convention failure. This has been brought to attention a few times already, and I personnaly think it should be named like in photoshop: opacity, not transparency.
  4. What you don't know is if the company is in a bad state, this could well be an elaborate plan to make interests on the grabbed money and this bar will only meet her goal when the interest compensate the loss between the real price and this "discount". And if they are in a REALLY bad shape, they could well make the bar never met the goal, refund everyone and still make substancial money... and hope that some ofthose who tried the demo and got familiar with the software buy a full price license afterward. This whole operation is either a genius marketing plan with a good intent, or huge scam... I hope this is the first one, I bought one license nonetheless.
  5. I actually think that would be an awful move, 3dcoat is often sadly percieved as an hobbyist app in some studios, getting the price cut down from those ridiculous 350 $ (compare to zbrush just for laugh) would be like screaming: look at me I'm a toy !
  6. I kinda like it, it's pretty smooth changing the color temps, and when color isn't involved it indeed makes using a computer kinda relaxing. Now I'm a bit concerned about constantly changing those values: is there an impact over the life of the hardware ?
  7. Voidworld is the new silo, simple, really customisable, streamlined, and modelling wise: feature packed. Sounds like marketing talk, but I was a silo user until recently after being disgusted by the lack of support from nevercenter, then discovered vw. The developper is a brillant guy who actually listen to his future customers; try it, you may fall in love with it Plus like tom_K said, integrated applink is a killer feature for such intuitive modeler
  8. She (he ?) is posting these work all over the net, I say troll... But then again I've said troll numerous time on other boards and was asked to not say it... I don't know about 3dc forum policy, but I think work should be allowed even if they use another software primarily, as long as 3dc is involved in the process somehow... I don't see that here :/
  9. I saw her in polycount too, her work is absolutely not related to real time... Go figure.
  10. Ah désolé je ne me balade jamais dans la section française, je ne savais pas qu'il avait été traduit.
  11. Can'getbacktovoxels (btw it's not translated anywhere, it should display a real tip in the chosen language, I think it's still hardcoded right ?) is when you use the proxy mode and try to switch back to voxel by clicking the circled button. If you want to switch from surface to voxel dont get into proxy mode. Also tip: when in surface mode, press enter to apply change to voxel model (very usefull if you make huge extrusion and stuff like that: it correct the polys stretching by turning the changes to voxels then back to polys (surface mode).< btw that would be awesome if custom hotkeyable ^^
  12. (you should read the manual you probably are missing a ton of 3dc functionalities.)
  13. Press harder and use higher depth, I guess that's what Andrew said when I changed them to be more "clay*like". I actually think it's awesome the way they work now, we can use them to "smooth" the surface just by simply brushing over a surface and filling the voids, they actually have an use now ! If it's changed, please make it an option...
  14. Extrude is indeed way less bumpier than before with narrow alphas, and airbrush is perfect, no more bump, just perfect, same goes for rapid brush. Now, the only "problem" is with scrape/flatten not having an invert function (look at zbrush trimdynamic for example). And the brush set is perfect for me Looking back to previous builds before brush engine changes is an horrible experience compared to the way it is now. ^^ Good job !
  15. I like how you sculpt her like a mannequin, reminds me of the way japanese sculptors do their figurine Once again a proof that 3dc is so intuitive that you use the same method as you would do in the real world just by experimenting Looks like a good start to me, my only crit is the lack of rythm in the legs (but that's not yet an issue, could be changed later), and maybe the eyes too far apart on the head (I think that's the part that needs the most work atm). Keep going !
  16. If you're talking about the vox room, it's already there, just put your mouse hover the object you want to sculpt and press "h". p.s: feel free to ignore this comment if you already know about this on this is not what you mean :p
  17. Rank Xerox, good job, recognized him instantly.
  18. Disabled everything but circle (it eases a bit the perf drop), when the cursor is over the whole model at large size (not talking about screen filling at this has little effect on performances), there's repetitives freezes. BTW Phil, I think you really live in a chrono rift, my radius slider stops a 50, Am I the only one ? While in caps lock mode which hide the cursor: no lag at all... Imho erklaerbar stated the reason in his latest post (or something close)
