America is FAR more religious than many other western countries, texas is known for being part of the "bible belt" of states. Its simple professionalism, stop thinking like your religion is the only one. What about Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism or go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religions_and_spiritual_traditions for more. In the professional world, to an extent you must supress some of these things to work together. By preaching one thing you will start to alienate others. I dont go around stating my disbelief of such things, and from coworkers I expect them not to. What you guys have conveniently ignored along with leigh/alot of the other cgtalk people is the real reason why 3dcoat doesnt have a higher adoption rate. People mentioned ui, state of the tools etc. But please, if you guys think its religion you can keep chasing your own tails.

what feature is this guy using in this video it isnt the auto retoppo from the voxel mode or is it? because the dialog that comes up when I use that is quite different from the dialog box in the video

Could 3dcoat get a uservoice or similar type thing? https://uservoice.com/ The best example would be silo's uservoice( http://nevercenter.uservoice.com/pages/5534-general ), it would be a great way to gage which features people want the most. Also as a subrequest/s Brush stroke preview - I was thinking something similar to photoshop's would be incredibly handy. Right now I have brushes(imported from photoshop), I have alot of options, but clicking each brush is sort of like eating something out of the fridge without an expiry date. It could be anything or rather it could have any effect. Masking like photoshop & PSD folder support Id also like to add in requests for masking like in photoshop would be amazingly handy, and folder support for psds. lastly Voxel brush icons All the buttons on the voxel sculpting page are getting hard to tell apart. Just like painting mode, icons are much easier to tell the different functions apart. This could be extended to the other modes as well(sculpt/uv/retoppo) Custom voxel brushes The ability to customize the brushes and save them. Id love to be able to do this with the other modes(paint/sculpt/retopo/uv) as well, save a particular setting and load it as a new button entirely. I think history has shown that giving users the ability to create things has been tremendously successful, so why stop at models, if we can customize the program further, Im sure the 3dc community could create some amazing things

Then close this subforum. Honestly I see 3dc users promote 3dc over at the pixologic forums & the discussion has been quite civil until now. As of now I see no rules saying not to be able to discuss competitors & I dont remember seeing Andrew forbidding such discussions. If in the future he happens to do so, fair enough. Until then you should get off your high horse, because its doing nobody any good here.

3dc could start by having a top row feature here

at the moment it seems like the hotkeys are global. For example, pressing B brings up the Picker, which is useful except when your not in paint mode. Id like to be able to bind b to something different if I am in say the retoppo mode, and again something else if I were in voxel sculpt while still having it be the picker in paint mode.

use meshlab, its free and works great. I dont see this being a priority for 3dc
