  1. Hey, nice flute! Hope it works well. I was trying to print colors to shapeways, but did not succeed yet!
  2. Wow, I wish Andrew became twitter friends with Groboto!
  3. It is a free version of Photofly. Photofly will probably be incorporated in something expensive end of this or next year ( ? ) . It's slower . I tried something that resulted in a pointcloud but no mesh. They should get support for trying to make it for free! Follow easy scanning rules to get dense 3D point clouds (3D scans) with full color. Point cloud is an accurate 3D representation of a real object. Starting with point cloud you can make accurate 3D copy of an object. My3DScanner will turn your camera or mobile phone into 3D modelling device. In a way point cloud is raw material to create a complete 3D model. Your scan can be very precise with resolution and accuracy compatible with professional multi-thousand dollars’ worth equipment (of course, the quality of your scan will depend on how good your photos are). If you want professional results, take professional photographs. You will receive your point cloud in widely used in 3D world .PLY format for free. To view .PLY file you can use your browser (not Internet Explorer, sorry), or download free or professional software here to play with it at your computer. We do not store your source photographs. They are erased form our server as soon as 3D point cloud is created. We have no intent and no right to use them other than for making 3D model for you. And we have no facilities to store them. You have a title for the 3D point cloud you create. We do not store it and will erase from our servers in several days. You can erase it immediately from our servers in My Projects menu (just click DELETE). But you can freely use, modificate and manage your point cloud after having downloaded it to your computer. You have all the rights and liabilities. We don't. We are just your servants.
  4. http://www.my3dscanner.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=63:david-and-photofly-goliath&Itemid=93 upload pictures, wait, receive 3D model for free.
  5. Are you sure you made it as thin as possible? Otherwise wait until you can have it printed in wax ( coming soon) and then have it produced by lost wax method.
  6. Great skills! Good idea. If Voxels could behave like that, would be great. For now, you could use clay, then photograph it and use photofly to digitize.
  7. Process outline Uploading a file with texture maps requires a few steps. I'll outline them first, and then go into detail for each one of them: In your 3D application, create a texture map. Export your model to VRML97 or X3D. Create a .zip archive of the exported model, and all the texture map images. Upload the archive.
  8. Please don't start yet another thread about this now.
  9. I don't know about mac apps. Pointclouds can be converted to meshes by 3DCoat or meshlab. Mocap can be used in combination with pointclouds ,but you may want to convert them first to particles in pe Softimage for effects involving physics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_cloud
  10. I am going to a Shapeways meetup today and I will try to get some answers.
  11. I am using dropbox for the transfer of bigger files between me and a partner. Ah, you're going to Shapeways. I really hope you will succeed and tell us how you did because i'm trying the same things. Did you print colour before? Is it suitable for a fairly good resolution picture like that?
  12. 18.500 dollares, that's a lot when autodesk makes it for free, slack.
  13. What was your scan method Chloe99?
  14. button = subdivide on import
  15. With some patience you may find that this community will find answers, for free.
  16. He's well known in the Netherlands, fantastic guy.
  17. With move you can get really close to that pushing of clay effect. Great work, is some of it yours?
  18. Models in voxels are slightly less sharp than in polygons. What kind of polycount are you reading in your model ( bottom of screen )?
  19. I have difficulties with the measurementsystem as well, is there someone that did printing from 3DCoat? And who understands how to get the size right? It is important for loading into shapeways takes at least half an hour and when it has the wrong size you have to do it again and again.
  20. Farsthary also did some procedural planet making things for blender a while ago, maybe this could be done in LiveClay/voxels as it could be very interesting i think - http://farsthary.wor...edural-texture/ Please post in: Forums/ Feature requests
  21. The photographer did not take pictures of the upperside, he did not climb to the first floor .
