12th Challenge: A scene from a classic fairy tale
aegean replied to ajz3d's topic in Member Contests
The old toy idea sounds fantastic - but as a 3D coat noob, may I add a suggestion. A noob entry level, for example with the last competition it is a tad intimidating, so could we please have the main category and a sub category such as an item from the main contest (in the last contest, a noob entry could be a talking teapot from beauty and the beast) - just so that we noobs can get a small round of applause before going onto greater things. If I could plant a modelling seed . . . . Fallout 4 will launch G.E.C.K. mod tool this year sometime . . . two birds with one stone . . . . -
going to try to enter - but on a job at the moment

I'm not yet qualified to vote - but when does the voting end and the next challenge start? I am chomping at the bit. I wasn't inspired by the shoe challenge - but then realised that Japanese clog type things would be a good novice item. But anyway - when is the next challenge? Edit: typo's always typo's

So the last winner was Al Bundy?

After the voting has finished, when will the next competition be announced?

No, That's not what I mean sir. Are the multifaceted eyes and the hexagons on the wings a smart material or is there some way of flood filling with alphas and extrusions? Thamks

To all my peers (which is probably everyone) On the main page demo video at 1:43, the robot insect suddenly has textured wings and multifaceted eyes, I would presume that it would be an alpha such as the chain-mail alphas supplied within the programme. BUT how do I flood fill rather than stamping? That is if I'm making any sense - pretty much in the way you could use a pattern as a brush in photoshop OR you could flood fill because the brush in question is tiled. Thanks in advance aegean

I had (while messing around) via customise UI managed to untick the "new" - so if mod's wish to delete this thread they may. Thanks
-
When I used the demo, there was "new" that launched the splash screen. Now I purchased 3dc it seems to disappeared - anybody else?
-
Thank you one and all - would just like to share with you that I have purchased a full version of 3DC - so be expecting lame club fisted manglelated models to be published soon. Note: © manglelated - not a word but it should be. "manglelated; verb; all voxel models created by aegean"

Hi I've been trying to find simple tutorials that include the recording program showing which hotkeys the author used. Some of us are more advanced in being noob than others . . . . . . . . . . . "and then it's as simple as retopologizing the general transmogrification and then you're done . . . . . " Edit: Typo - I can't spell simple words either (twice)

WOW - I'm just on the demo version, but I'm not sure I can make something like this off the bat. Gonna try to emulate this, "try" being the word -
Hola - Just playing with the demo version on Steam, I will be buying the full version and not just the indie, I once tried 3D coat when it was 2.5D, it's a lot more impressive now! Not going to buy until the 23rd, you never know, it may get into steam sales!!! Just need to get permission to change my avatar!
