  1. I wish those 3 parts as separate apps. 3DC is adding more and more features, that's good. But at the same time, the workflow is becoming mess. Sometimes I even think some existing features and items should be cut off, while focus on improve the left tools, keep a clear workflow and ease of use. It's true that the workflow is a little mess now, otherwise there won't be so many confused users here everyday. Personally I don't want 3DC to go to the direction of an All IN ONE tool. Just focus on what it does. Anyway this is only my personal opinion. The direction will be always determined by Andrew and most of the customers.
  2. This is an expensive feature. Maybe Andrew can make it as a small separate application. So what Pilgway has will be 3 products: 1. Pilgway 3D-Coat 2. Pilgway Tree generator 3. Pilgway bumpmap generator Of course, the price should follow Pligway's tradition, reasonable.
  3. Oh cakeller I envy you. I wish I have the same English skill level as yours. Can see your super-long posts everywhere. Just kidding
  4. Hi Amber, you can just render it with alpha, must .TGA format. So the rendered image's background is transparency. Then you can add any background as you want in Photoshop.
  5. Alpha? Forgive you if you have never switched to Render room yet.
  6. Is this a feature request? If so, please make a brief summary of your ideas and post it on the "Feature requests" board.
  7. You don't need to click in the box. You don't need to manually input anything. Just follow the 3 steps above. And make sure running 3D-Coat as Administrator.
  8. What do you mean "will not let me register it" ? Do you mean you don't know how to register? 1. Copy your serial to clipboard. 2. Start 3D-Coat. 3. Click register.
  9. 2.10.10 is fairly old. The last update for 2.xx was 2.10.17, download it from here. Your 2.xx license should works for that version.
  10. Hi walter, you need to download and install DirectX 9.0c, because DirectX 10 or DirectX11 doesn't contain DirectX 9. And, you can already import several Objects for Per Pixel Painting by using "File" - "Merge Object".
  11. Yes. 1. Use "Merge" button to import your Lightwave object into voxel. 2. Use "Cloth" button to drape cloth over it. http://www.3d-coat.com/voxel_tutorial.html
  12. Hi AbnRanger, do you mean you want to move the the gizmo exactly to the center of the bridge? Currently there is no direct way, for example a reset gizmo button. Please backup your file first before doing the steps below But I think you can still do this in a few steps: 1. Move the bridge exactly to the center of the space(0, 0, 0) by using "Reset space" button. 2. Check on "Move only gizmo", input 0, 0, 0 in "Position" Params. 3. Check off "Move only gizmo" then move the bridge to the position you want. That's all.
  13. "quadrangulate" generates quads, which is equal to auto-retopo. "reduce poly" generates triangles, which is ready for 3D Printing.
  14. Why not directly rotate the whole image 90° in Photoshop while painting, after painted then rotate it back (-90°)?
  15. Since 3D-Coat version 3.1.16, "3D-Coat hotkeys master" is now integrated in the help manual, enjoy! But I see only "Hotkeys maps" is integrated, the "Tips" is not. So maybe there are still the reason to keep this separate download available.
  16. Hi Amber, according to your requirement, this will not be a complex workflow. Actually it is very simple, what you need to know is just how to use the "Texture baking tool" in 3D-Coat. Only two steps: 1. Merge your object to Voxel Room, then sculpt it as you wish, after that, use "File"-"Export"- "Export Scene" to export (this will export a high-poly polygonal mesh). 2. Use "Textures"-"Texture Baking Tool". That's the workflow you asked. As for how to use each tool, you can find detail info in the PDF manual.
  17. Yeah it seems that many people don't even want spend several minutes to have a look at the PDF manual.
  18. Man, you said it's a "Reference mesh". Then how could you think you can paint on it? "Reference mesh" can't be paint because it's reference mesh. But add texture to reference meshes should work. Are you sure it doesn't work? A screen video will be welcome. Maybe you've missed something and maybe we could find it through your video.
  19. You could use "Texture"-"Import"-"Diffuse Map" to adding texture to your reference meshes.
  20. OK, I have just download the trial of Lightwave 9.6 and played it for 10 minutes. I made a simple test and It works. In Lightwave I just create a primary, then click "Insert Layer" and create another primary, then again click "Insert Layer" to create the third primary, then use "File"-"Save Object". In 3D-Coat, use "File" - "Import" -"Reference Mesh" to import that LWO file, then open "Windows" - "Popups" - "Sub-Objects" panel, I could see there are now 3 sub-objects. I've only used Lightwave for 10 minutes I don't know if that's the right way to create a layer in it, and I don't understand what a layer means in Lightwave. But from the small test above at least it works. It should also works for your multilayer Lightwave object. Are you sure you only see one object of your multilayer Lightwave file in "Sub-Objects" panel of 3D-Coat?
  21. I have never used Lightwave before, is one layer in Lightwave equal to one "sub-object" as in other softwares? Have you opened "Sub-Objects" panel in 3D-Coat?
