  1. is that depth or height? anything with depth bakes perfect on my pc but height wont work correctly
  2. getting same result with 2023.27 too... this hasnt happened previously
  3. its like the baking cage isn't influencing the baking height and giving off weird readings ..
  4. i think height baking is broken ... if you take a normal sphere , use an alpha with drag stroke and give it some height or any height .. 3dcoats baker has issues with it...
  5. it should just bake the color map , when you baking high to low .. i just tried it and mines working fine

  8. how did you set your uvs up? are you using separate models each with their own uv or is the mesh all together and youre using udims?
  9. would really need andrew to explain why its not implemented atm .. im constantly getting strange areas using the multires in 3dcoat .. maybe work is going to happen with it soon ,hopefully .. the sculpting side hasnt had much love lately and its literally the best part
  10. they are working on it , alot of us have been asking for a quad only mode on surface mode ... unfortunately , with the nature of 3dcoat converting things into triangles you can accurately and fast enough step down to lowest subs while rotating , however.... rotating panning in 3dcoat is fast enough that it doesnt really impact it , ill have 140M polys before and rotating pan and zoom was still butter smooth
  11. scrub that ... it works better .... dont worry don't change anything with viewport rotation
  12. yea thats what i thought i had done ... but if you look at the old versions the viewport rotates the object but now the object rotates instead
  13. what happened to viewport rotation? the current rotation uses mesh rotation and not the actual viewport camera rotating around the object ... , if you test with free rotation the camera rotates correctly but is axis rotation the rotation becomes mesh rotation and not viewport?
  14. nope its not but ive never realised how the mesh rotation works lol!
  15. might be a bug or a setting ive changed ... but when you rotate your model to see the underneath the rotation is then inverted ... so its mesh rotation and not viewport rotation?!
  16. can the loft tools and surface tools get some love ... maybe make them automated so when you select them the drawing tools are already selected for you , i have no idea how they work ... and i cant find material that actually helps ..
  17. it sounds easy but its the placement and material that will make it look natural ... hair is hard ! erm in 3dcoat you can .. but ive always found the modelling tools so hard to use ... maybe use blender for this one
  18. use the modelling room .. dont use voxels .. you need one sided polygons , make 3/4 strips , uv them and then copy and paste them on the head
  19. if you want optimised game hair , hair fibres arent the answer .. you need a couple of flat planes , and a good ahir texture and variate those across your mesh , if you want realistic hair then zbrushes hair fibres or xgen for maya .. blender also has hair particles .. the thing is , use the tool to its best uses and 3dcoat even though it caters for a massive variety of uses , hair isnt one of them
  20. i just tried to upgrade my version ... i went to pay with paypal the price was $45 .. when paypal was about to confirm it said i confirm the loan of $91 incase of changes or deliveries?
  21. also im currently hard surface modelling a chest plate , ive made hard edges and ive also selected the hard edges , but i want to invert my selection which im unable to do EDIT... just noticed the new update does this
