  1. Creating Spokes: To create the spokes I start with a box primitive and shape it using the cutoff tool. Once the the profile is created, I drag it to the splines tab, and convert it to a curve profile. I then choose a cylinder primitive and voxelize it to be used as the center hub for thespokes. With the cylinder selected I choose my spline profile segment and use the curves tool with radial symmetry to make the spokes.
  2. Creating wheels in 3D Coat. As with most things there are several ways to go about making stuff in 3d Coat, here I choose to revolve or "lathe"a train wheel by using a profile segment and the axial tool.
  3. Hello all, let's see if I can finish on time. My concept attempts to combine several different vehicles into one ultimate steampunk machine. I will try to show you how I created a lot of the parts in 3D_Coat.
  4. Doesn't seem like you can sculpt on it though
  5. There have been many times when i wished 3dcoat would have some sort of poly modeling capabilities. This would make coat so much more powerful. Ive also been using Keyshot for rendering, a Keyshot link would be nice.
  6. Thank you Garagarape. I sculpted this in about a day because I thought it would be a good subject to test voxel paint with.Didn't spend to much time detailing it. I did take it into Zbrush for detailing a while back but have moved on to other sculpts. When I finish detailing it I will post the final version. I actually have a pirate sculpt that I'm working on, when he's done I will merge the parrot in with him. Thanks for the suggestion.
  7. I got a kick out of this vid.-Forms In The Misty Voxels
  8. One of the things I like best about 3D-Coat is the ability to express our feelings or our thoughts quickly.Sometimes we artists get caught up in meticulous details and strive for technical perfection, which is fine, but other times it's nice just to express ourselves with quick sketches. Imagination has no limits
  9. Thank you. maybe too much noise on beak toned down version
  10. Should have put these under the same topic.....oh well I need to work on shaders
  11. Testing new voxel color feature Would like to see cavity and specular painting
  12. You caught that one, it is the depth shaders causing the problem. Ever since installing windows 7 I can't use DX version, I get 0x000007b error
  13. Great job implementing paint Andrew! Just a couple problems: Cavity painting crashes Coat. (I sent report). When switching to render and moving screen, anomalies occur.(see image) Would be great to see specular painting. Windows 7 64 GL-64 cuda 64 amd phenom 4 core 8 gig ram geforce gtx 460
  14. Hope you all have a good Christmas this year. Blessings for the year to come. Santa's Stuck Vandal Santa http://youtu.be/-eAygaFKSFs
  15. Don't be sad Andrew, I, for one support what you are doing.I think this painting feature is another step in the right direction.Keep doing what you're doing, remembering you can't please everybody all the time. Painting could be good for multi part voxel pieces or for simple things like painting logos or lettering on things like this. 18,000,000 tris. so far.Performance is great.
  16. To expand on Gravins suggestions I have included link to video. Sorry no audio. http://www.screencast.com/t/S4BGvOEhXqj
  17. Andrew Shpagin Started to make color in voxels. First - vertex color in surface mode. http://twitter.com/AndrewShpagin This could be interesting.Been waiting for this.
