  1. You can use other apps too in this challenge, just make sure you stay atleast 50% in 3DCoat. If a task is more simple to do in another app, dont hesitate to use it, just let us know in your WIP-Posts here. I think i would try it with curves but in surface mode (if to do in 3DC). Glad you like it . I you have some concepts already just post in here. Thanks Carlosan, that pretty much covers everything Just to add more, you can also create your personal "Winter Sports", doesnt have to be only the "Olympic" ones. If there are some regional, unusual, traditional winter sports... those are also welcome, just leave us a short story about it Only make sure to implement 3DCoat Reference in your entries ( Curious with what you guys will came along ).
  2. You can of course choose one single sports event, e.g. just bobsledding or just ski-jumping
  3. Challenge Rules: 1. Create a Scene or a turntable render (Still oder 360° animation) 2. You can use your pipeline software for this project, but there should be atleast 50% 3Dcoat inside. Please posts WIPs here and some details on which Package you use for what step. 3. Your render should implement in any kind a reference to 3D Coat, e.g. as frozen logo, or ski-track... you are free here 2D/3D, just handle this respectfully 4. You should cover the Topic "Winter Games" in any variation. 5. Deadline would be last day in February, if this is to tight, please advise... can be expanded 6. Winner is picked by challenge starter this time. If something is unclear, please ask. Hope you will have fun. Chingchong
  4. Thanks Carlosan, i thought it will close tomorrow, but voting was low in the last days. About next contest, i think it will be easier if i pick the winner as before, not a poll ( to long), or what do you think? What do you think about the next Theme proposal : Olympic Winter Games?
  5. yeah i know that wrinkle clay is bad, it wasnt a bug report at all, just for amusement about the result... so no need for further exploration/ investigation. in that issue... sorry , should have clarified that. i was only trying different settings with the brush, to get at least one good wrinkle with that brush or at least to get the idea, why its called wrinkleClay. Btw normally i would use your sharp preset to get wrinkles.
  6. Like those 1 till 9 shaders very much , thank you
  7. They are normally marked in the post as FINAL ajz3d http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15320&p=103870 BeatKitano http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14846&p=102444 Carlosan http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15320&p=103199 chingchong http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15320&p=103861 ebitz http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15320&p=103894
  9. btw: it would be nice to have an overview panel with final entries in that challange-thread (like the Gallery on the top in the General Forums, or the Video Panel in newbie-section), so that you dont have to click you trough each page.
  10. @Carlosan: Just wanted to now when the voting will close? Because we didnt have a deadline yet
  11. I just wanna cite a post from other topic, maybe that would help, since your problem is very unusual
  12. i think its called a "well", nice weapon. looks like a swiss army knife, but not sure how to fold The Top(roof)of the well could need some variation (die Ziegel sehen zu ordentlich aus für meinen Geschmack, und den Brunnen eventuell etwas breiter in Relation zum Dach machen, aber wie gesagt nur mein Geschmack)
  13. Ive looked trough the pages and only found this 4 final entries (btw Carlos, you didnt mark your image as "Final" there ), but i guess we can count BeatKitano's last shot in his WIP, since that looked very, very "Final" to me
  14. Seems like this challenge is abandoned by its challenge starter? Its too bad, really enjoyed your inputs (streams, wips and comments) here in the Community. But good luck to you, for your future work
  15. Thanks for feedback, glad you like my attempts. Lionshead is also my favourite, along with the mace. Im not sure about face, i guess i will let the shadows on the face, because its also part of the concepts i showed in the beginning but i will post later on some renders without shadow in my WIP. I lost steam on this project for now... Added some more decor and some glowing eyes (lol), this will be my FINAL entry
  16. So here is a more finished Version, maybe it will be the final Its not really finished or perfect, but ive never came so far with 3DC before, so im happy for now, learned alot of 3DC during this sessions. All vertex painting, thats why the ground is so lowres. (Shaders are mostly customized lamblight and customized default grey shader) In two Days is the Deadline, Guys!!! And only Beat is ready , Keep pushing the pixels. tris and voxels guys
  17. i need the full package , dont own a package yet. tried to learn blender.... but after ours and ours of tutorials im sick of it.(maybe i'm to dumb for that software) I'll spent my time now better on doing things with a decent and intuitive package, than a free but time consuming (for me) software. I want things to get done within days and not within months^^
  18. thanks for tipps and explanation of the lamblight shader, i will try it out soon with my model. Im really a texturing noob here's a "gossy" previsualisation of my texturing attempts. All in Clay Shader or Silver shader for armor, beisides the groud, i think its the default grey shader
  19. Thanks @t ajz3d and @Aleksey Im struggling with the painting, dont know which shader to use best for vertex painting of the different assets like columns/pilar , weapons etc. in one scene. Because i want to render in 3DC. The one above is using clay shader, so its maybe to shiny for a lion
  20. So after a long break i decided to finish that entry, im now texturing the lions head, with my limited texture skills so here is the progress so far.
  21. Im probably will join in the next days, Javis i sneaked into the trial and some tutorials. and it was the first package which let me render a image intuitively, was surprised how easy the UI is. What i most like is that PS-like layer organization and blending modes.
  22. some of you probably know, but maybe some didnt get the info Modo 701 (the fulkl package ) is now 40% off, extended till new years day .. http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/about-us/news-awards/festive-savings/ im lurking around on the site for days now, to buy or not to buy, because thats now a reasonable price for that package , at least in my eyes
  23. i will test it later with chrome and IE.... does not work on ipad 3 though, says it needs webGL
