New Member Kaitlyn Katie Doherty Posted October 3, 2012 New Member Report Share Posted October 3, 2012 Hey everyone! I was considering the purchase of 3DC off Steam but I'm not too sure if 3DC is compatible with the UDK engine?? I was wondering if I could use models I make in 3DC in UDK?? Thanks! Javis
Hi! I haven't used UDK in a long time, but I imagine if it can import OBJ and FBX (which you can export/import to/from 3DC), then it should be no problem.
Advanced Member David Schoneveld Posted October 3, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 3, 2012 yes FBX is the normal import format for UDK. Altho depending on what you hope to do it Unreal, I would suggest learning something like Blender, Maya, or Max first if you don't already. Carlosan
Unfortunately it doesn't accept OBJ files. It seems to only accept .ASE, .T3D, and Collada. Collada is listed as "Skeletal mesh" so I don't even know if a static object would import with that. found it Blender have exporters to UDK http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/Blender#Export_Plug-ins duno if its work with the new B_2.64 release
