Advanced Member ggaliens Posted November 22, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 22, 2012 Why does this happen to me ? I used to think I understood some of the causes. Lack of triangularization. Self-intersection. I think I'm trianglulates, a manifold, and not self intersection. I'm also not that thin. Why ?????? http://s331378245.onlinehome.us/3dcoat/bad-gyroid.jpg
Advanced Member ggaliens Posted November 22, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 22, 2012 The basic shape was supposed to be a GYROID imported from Surface Evlover into Wings3D ... thickened and them exported into 3DCoat. I think I was having better luck with version 3.

Advanced Member ggaliens Posted November 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 BeatKitano ... this is an urgent bug. I don't know why you would think otherwise. It is quite a time-waster.

Advanced Member ggaliens Posted November 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 Sorry, It may be a false assumption. But it is quite painful that I don't get the proper feedbacks in either of the software packages I use. I'll double check the .OBJ file Carlosa. Thanks for looking at it. I'll have a better inspection of it later today.
Advanced Member ggaliens Posted November 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 OK ... my appologies. I can see that I should have had a look at the .OBJ file. Looking at the mesh in wire mode is not enough.
Advanced Member ggaliens Posted November 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 Yuk. Wings3D has a few materials applied. This was like an unexpected kick in the privates $##^^A@@ because I didn't mean to ask for it. So fault appears to be not with 3DCoat but with Wings3d/user. My bad again.
