Maybe this is just my PC config, but maybe it helps others too I have noticed that even at default settings, the GTX 500 series tends to run a bit hotter than other series. Not sure why, but I read that in an article and found it to be true. If you are overclocking your system, then you want to bring the clock speeds and voltages down in the summer...unless you are in an AC cooled environment. Oh and at bedtime I turn off my AC in the computer room and fire up my AC in the bedroom for a comply sleep here in Hot, Hot South Texas...
