Member lord_quas Posted August 13, 2013 Member Report Share Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) Hey guys, missed you all. This summer was mad busy between here and Montreal and still finding new beaches on PEI, just getting my 3D-coat legs back again and starting a project. Its a stylized photo realistic scene in Thai land/Asian. Kitted out Tukk Tukk and Background Scene. You'll see alot updated to this soon so I thought I would start at the very beginning then jump to the middle and along the way I'll make a video. Its funny having a couple months off, its like picking up a piece a clay again and going through 101 I found. Also forgot how enjoyable it is to once you brush the dust off. Anyway this isnt a diary journal so I'll drop this first day image and I'll post more this week. Seems my most common tools are the chisel as it bares some resemblance to the scrape tool in Voxel mode. Sketch is done by a student of FengZhu. Reputable Contributor digman Posted August 13, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted August 13, 2013 Good start... There have been a number of brush improvements in the newest beta plus Artman's presets for surface mode are loaded by default. Under the top Windows menu, Popups / Presents. This will load Artman's presets for surface mode. There are a number of brushes he made for this kind of work. http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10395&page=1

Member lord_quas Posted August 30, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) Neat technique designamyte. Ive decided to mix 3d-Coat and Max and I havent touched Max since I found 3D-Coat. So im making the block of it in Max then taking it to 3Dcoat Surface room. Got alot of work to do. Member lord_quas Posted September 11, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) It would be so easier if I didn't have that bad habit of a fulltime job taking 8 hours off me a day. Much happier with this new shape from Max. Edited September 11, 2013 by lord_quas
Advanced Member L'Ancien Regime Posted September 11, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 11, 2013 This is an interesting project. Yes working totally inside of 3d Coat is tough. I like making broad meshes in Maya then merging them in 3d Coat to voxels that I can then sculpt and autopo. Though you could try learning the Curve tool...there's a ton of hidden functionality in it that could give you some serious hard edge power. http://3d-coat.com/files/screen/137885474674.jpg http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15102&hl=
