[Fixed] How do I pick a color under my cursor when selecting a color in the Smart Material Properties?

I duplicated a Smart Material and I would like to change the plastic color texture. I click on the color to open up the Color Palette. How do I set the Color Palette to use a color that is already somewhere on my model's texture? I can't figure out how to sample a color underneath the cursor.

The Eyedropper tool, or use the Hotkey assigned to it...which is "V." Once you have the color selected, you can store it in your Color Swatches by hitting the little Green dot icon at the bottom of the Color Swatches panel. If you save quite a few of them, then in the upper right part of that Swatches panel, is a little drop list toggle. From that you can choose to save the pallet, for later use in other projects.

Thanks for your reply. That proves that I am doing it correctly. Could you please watch this video and tell me why instead of sampling the color I end up painting the smart material instead?

Thanks,

Thanks for taking the time. I never noticed that, but you are right. Seems it wasn't thought through enough to enable one to sample a color from a part of a model, nor choose a color from the color swatches panel, either. Looks like a good time for Carlos to add this to Mantis, perhaps...Carlos? It is a pretty major limitation.
