Member kevjon Posted July 6, 2015 Member Report Share Posted July 6, 2015 I cannot select the centre of face of cylinders items in the uvRoom using the island option. I am running into this issue constantly with cylindrical items, so thought there might be an alternative method. Is there another way of selecting the object so I can add seams to it and apply uv unwrapping tool to it ?
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted July 6, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 6, 2015 To create seams, select "Edges" in the top bar and use the "Mark Seams" or "Edge Loop" tool and select the desired edge.
Contributor ajz3d Posted July 6, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) If you're in UV room, simply select Mark Seams and start selecting edges that will be your UV seams. There's no need of selecting centre of faces or anything. It doesn't even matter what you have selected in the top bar, be it islands, vertices or other types. The top bar items are used for selections in UV preview window. Edited July 6, 2015 by ajz3d
