Advanced Member arumiat Posted June 17, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) I have a set of objects that I've exported individually from another program that're closely aligned. If I bring them into Blender, or back into the original program, the objects maintain their positions in 3D space (& thus alignment). When bringing them into the sculpt room however in 3DC with the Import -> Import mesh for voxelisation option, they can end up anywhere. They will not be easy to align by hand. I'm sure I'm missing something in terms of my import method or settings. Any advice appreciated A Edited June 17, 2016 by arumiat
Carlosan
The original model is at Global Space center ?
Advanced Member arumiat Posted June 18, 2016 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 18, 2016 No it does not come up not at the centre of x, y, z axes, if that is what you're asking..
Carlosan
Are you working in a new-fresh project ? About values: Geometry > Edit scene scale > are values the defaults ? Geometry > Define Measurement units Both apps use the same units ? * Please try Meters /Metric and inside Blender Scale 0.1 Hope this help
Advanced Member arumiat Posted June 19, 2016 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 19, 2016 Thanks Carlosan, scale is correct between objects, just their positioning seems to be random on entry into project (yes clean, new one). I will keep playing
Contributor ajz3d Posted June 20, 2016 Contributor Report Share Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) @arumiat, would you be willing to post your file so we can inspect it? You can replace your geo with some placeholder geometry, if your work falls into NDA. Edited June 20, 2016 by ajz3d
