Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted June 24, 2016 Advanced Member Share Posted June 24, 2016 Hi all, I am curious about something..... I have been trying out the rendering room, I noticed this ....I had my rays set to 500 . As I was watching it render it would get to 500 then start again as if it were rendering a sequence but was not saving it anywhere. Eventually I got to the bottom of it.... it was seeming to render the frame 4 or so times before it saved ? Is this how the renderer works ? does it do several passes before it saves? It was rendering just the 500 on the default render size so I figured that was it ,it was when I increased to a larger render size it did the extra passes. I thought it was broken for large renders so I was canceling the render....I guess before it had done the extra passes, if that is how it works? Carlosan
Don't overwrite files is = ON ? Show image sequence folder: was selected one folder ?
Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted June 24, 2016 Author Advanced Member Share Posted June 24, 2016 Everythings ok carlosan... I think I confused matters by not saying I was only rendering one frame not a sequence! Everything is set to render one frame in a folder, my query was it renders four passes for one picture at sizes above the default size. Why does it render 4 passes? So in my case 500 rays per frame x 4 its notrendering a 4 frame sequence just the one.
Carlosan
Anti-Aliasing increase render times.

Carlosan
I saw your render size. yes. Render times are proportional to render size. try lowering render size to see the difference.
Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted June 25, 2016 Author Advanced Member Share Posted June 25, 2016 Thanks . I think I was just expecting it to render the rays slower rather than multiple times.
