Advanced Member bobzilla Posted January 15, 2009 Advanced Member Share Posted January 15, 2009 Here are two pics of the last dino model I worked on many moons ago. Lots of things personal and work-wise have delayed me from working on it or most things 3D, but I'd like to get back to it soon. Do you folks think this is ready for sculpting in 3D Coat at this point? It's 2027 polies for the body and each plate is about 56 polies. Modeled in Cinema 4D. Thanks. Any other feedback welcome also.
Andrew Shpagin
Of course it is ready for coating. Of course it is better to assign uv-set.
Advanced Member bobzilla Posted January 15, 2009 Author Advanced Member Share Posted January 15, 2009 Yes. UVs are the next step. Didn't want to start until geometry was done. Thanks!
Advanced Member Eric Dandoy Posted January 15, 2009 Advanced Member Share Posted January 15, 2009 Very nice model, I can't wait to see it textured.
Advanced Member kenmo Posted January 22, 2009 Advanced Member Share Posted January 22, 2009 Isn't there a problem with exporting uv mapped models from C4D to an obj? Cheers Ken
Advanced Member bobzilla Posted January 22, 2009 Author Advanced Member Share Posted January 22, 2009 I hope not. I'd like to hear from some C4D users on that.
Member prayas Posted January 25, 2009 Member Share Posted January 25, 2009 why should there be a problem with UVs from C4D. Try it! You can do the Uvs in another tool if you like but i would prefer using c4d considered the time you make stuff in c4d allready. You know the program. If you need help ask for it, but it's far more rewarding to figure it out yourself P..:

Advanced Member bobzilla Posted January 27, 2009 Author Advanced Member Share Posted January 27, 2009 Yes. I have an allosaurus and camarasaurus that have been done for a while. http://www.theiguanaden.com/pages/images.html If I can ever finish off the stego, I'm going to work on a ceratosaurus. Very nice models, well done. Dinosaurs are a pretty hard subject to model.
Advanced Member bobzilla Posted January 29, 2009 Author Advanced Member Share Posted January 29, 2009 Thanks! I've loved them since I was a kid (many moons ago) and they are why I got into 3D and animation. UVing the plates right now...
