New Member Gena Posted July 21, 2020 New Member Report Share Posted July 21, 2020 Hello ! I don't understand how to properly bake a hard surface. I know that you can bake without a Normal map, but I need with Normal. My problem is that sharp corners are not baked correctly. Carlosan
Silas Merlin: add some geometry like a bevel. very low poly are difficult to bake (in 3dc) because the vertex normals just don't face in the desired direction. an alternative to adding geometry is to bake with subdivisions (which creates two meshes in the paint room, the lowpoly you made, and a midpoly). At export, you have to remember to export the lowpoly and not the midpoly. https://discord.com/channels/191238714171588608/541652288276660254/735435983155101726
