Purpose of surface mode in 2021?

I am wondering, now Voxel mode has access to brush modifiers such as auto subdivide, what is the purpose of surface mode? When should we change?

Before, my workflow was to sculpt the basic form in Voxels, then switch to Surface for the high-res details. Is this workflow the same or is there not as much point in surface mode now?

 There are many tools and operations plus workflows in surface mode not in voxel mode

Years ago I started to use the back then, the limited surface brushes we had. They were good for quickly building form being faster than the voxel brushes. I every so often would press the enter key to convert that area back to voxels as I was only building up to medium form before switching to surface mode.  We have more surface mode brushes in voxel mode today but still they do not replace surface mode itself.
