Cannot paint to edge of UV island

I've seen some similar posts but nothing conclusive. When painting there seems to be no bleed into the area around my 3d islands and for the painting I've tried thus far I get a fine line at the very edge. I have exported a DXF from Blender, multiple models with single 4k texture.

I have a quad that is a floor tile I am trying to hand paint but I got this very thin and inconsistently thin like along every edge.

Am I missing a setting in 3DCoat? It seems odd I cannot ensure the UV island edge has an appropriate bleed across islands. If this is really the case I'll have to drop back to Blender.

Will post an image when back on the laptop tomorrow.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I mean, this just does not work as I would expect... I should really expect this pretty nasty seam? The narrow edge is probably in a separate UV island to the checkered plane and sure I could probably unwrap differently (using Smart UV project) I would not expect this limitation.

Painting on the 3d model, this seems to have been fixed for me in 2023.22 (possibly earlier, I updated from 4). Which version are you using? For me, the problem only persists if I paint in the UV window. Basically, every pixel the midpoint of which lies outside of the uv island can't be painted (which is a headache especially when doing lowres textures). You get a clearer picture of what's happening (and less missing texture) if you temporarily switch to the pencil tool as that shows the texture without interpolation.

Some of my models are just flat quads for floor tiles and painting to the edge on those is pretty challenging also. I think I'll give it another go/see if there can be a work around as I am struggling a bit with Blender texture paint limitations.
