Pose Tool - Line Selection Options

Hey Andrew,

Yet another... ;)

I'm curious what you think about having a few more options within the pose tool, specifically with line selection. Sometimes when you select and appendage, such as an arm, when you click and drag you will also get the lower torso and/or legs. Would it be possible to have it select just the arm in a case like this? Where it would only selection continuous voxels in the affected area, and not all voxels under the gradient selection area.

this can definitely use some additional control...some options needed are:

- increase selection

- decrease selection

- save/load selection (?)

With these additions, we could select from the elbow out towards the hand, for instance, and

then just 'increase' the selection back towards the shoulder until satisfied.

I'm thinking the save/load could be useful for rapidly manipulating appendages once we've

gotten 'perfect' (or at least functional) selections made on each area...this could be a handy way

to get around having a traditional bone/skeletal rig when posing characters for the 'Render' room. ;)

Perhaps these abilities could be based off of a real-time generated (hidden) cage that is volume-based,

since trying to load a selection on a volume that has changed in voxel number might be tricky...

(another user posted a link covering a Pixar technique -Harmonic Coordinates- that seemed like it might

have some relevance for this http://www.vimeo.com/1809956)

I hope this will be read and fits into this thread:

Feature request: Posing layers at the same time. Invisible layers and layers which are "locked" in the VoxTree will be not posed. There should be a new icon beside the "eye", maybe a small lock.

And one more wish: sometime it is very useful to make layers transparent.
