Member chr1 Posted July 1, 2009 Member Report Share Posted July 1, 2009 Hi, I apologize if this post is a repeat, but I would like to know if there is some reason that voxel volumes remain editable when they are invisible. This has been consistently problematic for me, though perhaps other people work differently, and there is a reason for this. I would appreciate any comments, and if others are in agreement, I would like to request that invisible voxel volumes not be editable. Another approach would be to something I've seen elsewhere, and have two icons next to each item in the voxel tree - one for visibility and one for editability - still, though, I just can't imagine being adept enough to do worthwhile sculpting of invisible objects. Thanks! Chris
Javis
Interesting, the last time I tried to edit invisible voxels it didn't work. I shall check again when I have some time. What build are you using for this?

What build are you using for this? Is it possible to edit invisible voxels if you remain in the same volume? I hide voxels by 'hiding' the volume but if I don't then change to another volume (I haven't tried this), perhaps I can inadvertently damage the 'hidden' voxels. Contributor artman Posted July 1, 2009 Contributor Report Share Posted July 1, 2009 Just be careful which layer is selected (but ,as Tony found out hiding prevent this issue)

What build are you using for this? Thanks for replying. I am using build 3.00.07. 1) create one voxel volume, and place a primitive in it. 2) create a second voxel volume and place a primitive in it. 3) hide the first volume in the voxel tree, and select this hidden volume. 4) click around with the sphere tool - I see nothing happen, but then when I show the hidden volume, I can see that the sphere tool has been doing its work. This works for tools other than the sphere tools well (though not under all conditions). I hope what I've said makes sense! Thanks
