Advanced Member The Candy-floss Kid Posted February 19, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 19, 2010 A feature that I often wish I had was the ability to be able to import native .3B objects so I could set a scale and repeat with spacing factor along a curve. At the moment a .obj form used as curve shape/profile has a specific height /dimension. Any .obj form similarly centered but smaller than that can be made to appear to repeat along a spline and adjusted by the add scale facility of the curve tool as well as revolved etc. It's this ability I would love importing .3b files on the fly to make shapes flow along a curve as well as be spaced and sized. {Merge from retopo and place on pen is a kind of work around to place objects along a form - but the calculations on some forms make this unworkable. Also you can merge .3b files into the merge facility but these can't it seems be placed on forms using place on pen but rather it merges the one .3B object into the scene.} v.3.
Andrew Shpagin
This feature is already there. Vox tree->RMB->Export->Curve profile. Save file to folder \VoxStamps\Curves\... Then select curves tool and select this profile.
Advanced Member The Candy-floss Kid Posted February 21, 2010 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 Many thanks Andrew. Saving curves is a wonderful feature. Do you think it will ever be possible to include .3B objects as voxel splines as well as .obj files? Many thanks

Many thanks I think OBJ are enough for this purpose mainly because OBJ-s can be simplified before export.
