Advanced Member lc8b105 Posted February 20, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 Some one have tole me that they wish 3d-brush can support "Vector Displacement" some day. He said that currently only modo and XSI support "Vector Displacement",if 3d-brush will support, that will be great! It seems that the displacement of 3d-brush is "grayscale Displacement",but not support "Vector Displacement".

In general, 3DB uses vector displacement as it's usual workflow, but now it is not able to export/import it.

Can you send me some sample of displaced sphere (or cube) with texture (hdr format) and object to support@3d-brush.com? It will help me to understand what I should output. Advanced Member rimasson Posted February 20, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 Here are the files : http://dl.free.fr/htXsFrAVu/cube.rar A simple cube, the texture in .exr format and .psd format, and some viewport snapshots from modo. There seems to have a conflict between your mail adress and mine. F

Member Sethren Posted February 20, 2008 Member Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 Imports and exports for vector displacement. Nice! Now does not the imported images need to be 16bit or higher for .psd to make this work. Does .psd support hi res?
