philnolan3d
I've got the 3D printing bug. Since my one model worked out I thought I'd try my hand at designing some jewelry. In this case a pair of pendants. Of course I can't afford to have it printed so the hard part would be figuring out if it will even be printed properly. Advanced Member L'Ancien Regime Posted November 14, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 14, 2011 Well if you're going to do jewelry then you're not going to want to go the 3d printer route with a plastic output...you'll be wanting a CAD CAM wax milling machine so you can do a wax removal casting technique... http://www.ganoksin.com/borisat/nenam/nytch.htm

Not necessarily. There's also methods which allow 3d-printing in metal directly. It's not exactly cheap though.
philnolan3d
I was planning to just have Shapeways print it in silver or in gold colored stainless steel.
