What is the difference between visible triangles and curr. obj. tris? PS What happened to the group tab in windows/popup menu?

I have retopoed my mesh and have painted simple colors as you can see in the 2 screen captures below. I don't know what to do to send this to substance painter with all the different parts of the mesh showing on separate layers, so I can work on every individual part independently. It would be greatly appreciated if someone would spoonfeed me through the process.

Yes, that was certainly the problem. While I was working on the hand I had hidden all of the rest of my retopo work so it wouldn't get in my way. I didn't think anything I did to the hand would be applied to the hidden retopo as well, but somehow it did.

I think I see what happened. While I was working on the hand I cleared the seams once and then marked them again on the hand. Looks like all of the seams of my entire mesh got cleared as well. Got to go back and remark the seam on the whole mesh.

Did you unwrap each uv set as you finished it? yes How many uv sets... Not sure what you mean, all the uvs I have for the mesh are shown in the second screen capture.
-
Not sure how to do that.

Please help. I retoped this hand and when I try to unwrap, look at what happens to the rest of my uv islands. This was a considerable amount of work, I don't want to lose it all. PS I can do a ctrl z and get back but every time I hit unwrap it screws up everything else.

I bought Toolbag 2 the last time it was on sale, but I haven't been able to find much for tutorials. It would certainly be great if someone would make a video of 3DC to toolbag2 workflow.

OK, thanks everyone.

OK. I've got this character made in 3DC. The only part that I have retopoed is the hat. What steps should I follow in order to paint this in Substance painter. PS Malo, I'll check out your video tomorrow.

OK, I think I'm beginning to understand. Thanks guys

Carlosan it says those material IDs need to be created during the mesh creation. I create all of my meshes in 3D COAT. I don't have substance designer only substance painter. I want to create these material IDs in 3D Coat. Is there a way to do this in 3D Coat?

I bought the indie version and I'm having a little workflow problem between 3DC and Substance painter. The Texture Sets pane shows all the material IDs of your assets. Those material IDs need to be created during the mesh creation. Does anyone know how to create the material IDs in 3DC?

Every time I launch 3DC I get the following error message. Once I click OK every thing loads OK. Any one know how to get rid of this on start-up?

Re-simmetrize partial object and navigation frame
Denis replied to uuderzo's topic in General 3DCoat
Thank you Carlosan. -
Being a 60+ retired hobbyist I don't always understand the technical Jargon. So my question is, would the Indie version work for what I need?

Re-simmetrize partial object and navigation frame
Denis replied to uuderzo's topic in General 3DCoat
And... another question by the way: is there a way to get rid of the viewport outer navigation frame (a-la zbrush)? I find myself trying to sculpt in those area but rotating the view instead. I don't understand the answer to his second question?
