  1. I see. I missed that. I dont read the fine print from Kurv. They should offer ftp download for other people Hmm..can't seem to play the mp4 file not like other video from kurv
  2. How about using download manager like DAP? Believe me its not fast because Kurv server is slow 300kbps only for me from kurv. Tooks hours to download. In any case I'm sure Kurv will offer support
  3. I was able to download it with firefox. Did you use IE? Haven't checked if its error free since its almost 4 gig in ONE rar file.
  4. Sweet. Shipping to japan would be troublesome I think. Btw are all the sculpts 3dc even the hard edges? No importing from lw?
  5. I agree . Maybe take break from adding new small stuff. Maybe have a poll on which major feature is lacking and concentrate on that. As of now when new builds are made, either new bugs are introduced, old features get broken, old bugs return. Just like any software I guess. The good thing about being in constant flux is there's no warez of 3dc since I doubt they would want to crack something that is in constant rapid development
  6. a friend did that with his 6600gt agp card I think but it didn't make a difference since he was using lw 8.5 that time. LOL!
  7. Yes agreed download option is a must. 7 gigs no prob to download. I downloaded Win 7 RC in minutes But I think kurv will have trouble with bandwidth that's why shipping only.
  8. Yep I thought so too. Since its like a poly reduction workflow but using your own retopo mesh.
  9. Related to adding to UV tools. project UV set to another mesh. I had problem here. http://www.3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?sho...amp;#entry25269 I think its possible since the theory is similar to polygon reduction tools. In lw there's plg http://homepage2.nifty.com/nif-hp/lw_plugi...abs_english.htm I can reduce polycount to almost 10% and it still retains UV. So maybe in 3dc we can extract UV info from high poly mesh to project to cleaner low poly retopo mesh.
  10. Thanks. Xsi is really cool. Konami japan is exclusively using it. I thought Andrew put it hidden somewhere in 3dc. Hehe. Time for a feature request. FYI the model is from turbosquid and so many crappy high poly models there that's unuseable until you reduce the polycount. I though I could use 3dc to retopo the model, project the uv and have a low,med poly version without so much texture distortion and a cleaner mesh. Guess its manual labor again.
  11. What is the purpose of this thread really? People have too much time on their hands for whining. If you're a character artist you would make 200US for a single project. Even a simple car modelling job would be payed upwards 600US let alone a sculpted high detail character. I'm not even into doing characters and I bought 3dc for painting, retopo and now learning sculpting and finding it easier than other software to use.
  12. Is it possible to project UV set from high poly mesh to low poly mesh? I was given a high poly mesh that had uv then I retopo. Can I project UV from high poly into low poly retopo? Not textures just the UV. So I can just swap the low poly model while still using the high poly UV sets and textures outside 3dc.
  13. How about a sketch tool like this http://www.archipelis.com/ More useful for building mass quickly.
  14. Have you tried http://www.archipelis.com/ Its a 3d sketch program. My friend has the Iphone version. Its very easy to use. I hope Andrew implements something like this for 3dc.
  15. Another test with this autorigger. It rigs in seconds. Lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV9Oci7rfzk
  16. haha. really? haven't been there in a while. But how about the major categories?
  17. how does zbrushcentral do it? scultping only forum, painting forum, etc? that's a more established forum so I think its best to do the same so as not to confuse new people.
  18. I'm beta testing it and here's some results. My old penguin I made in 3dc. Here's more info on Jimmy rigger
  19. linux is probably less than 10% of pc userbase. Besides there's wine. Probably best not to focus on it and concetrate more on killing bugs.
  20. Finally got to use direct painting and all I can say is wow! I can't show more its under nda but its nearing completion. So this is an animatic. One of many scenese. All people simulated in massive and painted in 3dc. Took one day to paint 15 people which would have taken days to do if not for 3dc. http://revver.com/video/1734521/test-render/
  21. Such a long post. Where is your zbrush sculpt that you have trouble making in 3dc? If you think the quality of the gallery does not represent the potentiality of a software well I don't know what field you're in I'll leave it at that . My point was that zbrush has a lot of quality work because there's more users(hobbyist who can sculpt till forever) than 3dc not because 3dc is so sucky for you that its not even worth your time and money and its futile because all your rants aren't implemented. If you think you're really wasting your time and wasted your 200US then why not use zbrush or mudbox? There's not one software that can do it all in this field. I used zbrush 2. Hated it. I tried mudbox 1.0. Loved it but it was bought by autodesk. Here's something to read http://www.impactlab.com/2008/11/24/devote...ecome-a-genius/ Its no secret why people who are at another level are where they are. If it takes 1000-10000 hours, it takes time. So start raising your skills instead of frustrating yourself. I'm on 6 hours using 3dc direct painting and it just made my employers +5000US without them paying for my personal 3dc license Something that could have taken days to paint in photoshop took hours. Puts things in perspective when people say 3dc is a waste of money.
  22. Actually the question was directed at you. You must raise skills first on your own before you reach the barrier that others have with 3dc. Blaiming the tools too much and complaining the most about how 3dc is not good enough for sculpting. It doesn't sound logical for a beginner. I'm included in that group. The question about renderdemon I would answer yes It is really good and its made in 3dc and that's the testament to how good sculpting in 3dc can already be at this early stage. Thank you for pointing that out and if I get to that level it would not be a question of 3dc software but of skills. 3dc can do that now which was my point that it is possible to do good work in 3dc and you complaining and saying that you have been wasting your time and money with this application won't make you a good artist and even if you try to do it in zbrush could you do it now? Its as if you think you can do better work as good as renderdemon if you use zbrush rather the 3dc. If sculpting tools are not hard to learn then why are so many zbrush users complaining that zbrush workflow is not intuitive and not using it for weeks it takes hard to get into again? And yeah I'm sure time spent on the software has nothing to do with getting good at something, If you say so. 1000 hours of practice must be wasted on athletes as well. I am willing to invest 1000 hours for 3dc when it allows. The hobbyist remark is directed at the thousands of zbrush warez users who can take weeks sculpting the perfect monster. More time spent can equate to better work. Its not directed at you but related to how much difference the number of skilled sculptors are in zbrush than any other app. Taros - thank you for pointing out that thread. I have something to look forward to with 3dc even more. i would consider what artman said about x64. You might encounter a bottleneck with zbrush as well with your system so it might be time to upgrade.
