Member Tiles Posted July 26, 2013 Member Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 I have added a text by spline and applied it by enter. Now the text goes through the mesh. It`s not just at the surface of the side where i want it to map. But also at the backsides and in the inner side of my mesh. Is there a setting somewhere where i can adjust the depth of how deep the text is mapped?
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted July 26, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 There must be some setting but until you learn it, you can paint it out in the Editor view.
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted July 26, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 In the E-Panel you can check "Ignore Backfaces." That might help. If it goes all the way through, still...then it is something Andew should look at.
Member Tiles Posted July 27, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 Thanks folks Unfortunately i cannot test anymore if this helps. Stumbling from one problem to another at the moment. First try ended in a crash. Crashreport is sent. Second try: The text doesn`t get applied to the texture with enter anymore. Is there a special trick? Is it because i have loaded an already textured object? I really miss a simple apply button in the popup menu ...
Reputable Contributor digman Posted July 27, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 In the Text tool's panel you have to check "ignore back faces" This tool does not take into account the "ignore back faces" setting in the e-panel. I tested and the text was applied worked correctly at least in the Linux version 64 bit, 4.0.05H
Member Tiles Posted July 27, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 Thanks Digman I still try to figure out why the text doesn`t get applied at all though
Member Tiles Posted July 27, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 Riddle solved. User fault. My layer was hidden by another layer.
