Hi everyone, i'm new to 3D-Coat, and i'm about to buy either the educational version or the Pro version, but i can't seem to find a 'compare versions' pdf or html file anywhere on the site. Is there one? If not, is the following abridged snippet of info all there is to go by?

Limitation of Education version:
1) no commercial usage
2) textures size to export is limited to 2048x2048
3) layers amount is limited to 7

Anyway, great to be here. Hope i can help some after i learn the app as well as be helped.

Blessings to all..

Tim

This is correct. They are one in the same, except for those few limitations. And the layers limitation refers to Paint layers only. The EDU option is perfect for students, hobbiests or those who simply want to use it to create game mods. You could start out with it and if you need to go beyond those few limitations, and/or if you should begin to use it for commercial purposes, you can simply upgrade to the Professional version.

I, too, bought the educational version first, but then bought the floating between Win/Mac and finally commercial.  If I had any feedback on that, it would be to simply get the educational, and then the commercial floating.  I believe it would have been cheaper that way, but for the amount of time I saved and/or make with 3DC, I'm not complaining.
