Member jimiclay Posted July 4, 2016 Member Report Share Posted July 4, 2016 Went to open 3D Coat the other day, but it just locked up. Nothing I did would open the app. So I uninstalled and did a reinstall, now the install just stalls as well. (No pun intended) I'm on Windows 7, 64 bit OS. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how'd you get around it?

Member jimiclay Posted July 5, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted July 5, 2016 No, unfortunately, I've not been able to upgrade. I'm using vers 3.7.
Carlosan
The 3.7.18H ? You can find past builds for 3D-Coat, at a single URL. http://3d-coat.com/download/older-version/
Member jimiclay Posted July 5, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted July 5, 2016 yeah, that's the version that I downloaded. The problem is, it won't install. I followed Andrew's advice and tried installing in Admin mode, but no luck. At this point I just don't know what to do.
Carlosan
Can you make a new user Install the 64 version of 3DC. Test to open it again ?
Member jimiclay Posted July 8, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted July 8, 2016 Im sorry, but I don't understand. How do you make a new user? I am trying to install the 64 bit version, but I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Member jimiclay Posted July 11, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted July 11, 2016 Just asking... what would be the diff between installing as Admin and installing as a new user. Seems to me, the problem is the same. The install never starts up, it just stalls. I got the same hourglass in both cases. My question is, what would cause the program to do that? Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted July 11, 2016 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 11, 2016 I once had a problem with 3D Coat not loading and it took almost a day or more to troubleshoot the problem. It wasn't anything to do with the app itself. My Anti-Virus software kept impeding the loading process. So, disable any Anti-Virus or Firewall when you install. After installing, you may want to go into your AV settings and under EXCEPTIONS, point to the 3D Coat.exe file in the install directory. Member jimiclay Posted July 12, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted July 12, 2016 Wow, thanks, it never occurred to me that it might be the anti-virus software. I should have known to chek that. Thanks again,
