Contributor Klaus Nordby Posted September 11, 2009 Contributor Share Posted September 11, 2009 I really must support Andrew here against the vile nonsense sputtered by MatPainter! Andrew is in favor of competition, and isn't afraid of it -- including allowing frank discussions about competing products on his own forums. That is very commendable. Member Nemoid_ Posted September 11, 2009 Member Share Posted September 11, 2009 Competition is good, and the winner is always the user. Allow Andrew to program and get inspired even by Zbrush and vice versa. Eventually we'll have 2 fantastic programs instead of one. I think the real contender of Zbrush is 3dCoat, no doubt. Contributor Tinker Posted September 12, 2009 Contributor Share Posted September 12, 2009 Z-brush videos too pathos. It is possible to record much more impressive video of 3D-Coat, if apply the same production work.
Advanced Member renderdemon Posted September 12, 2009 Advanced Member Share Posted September 12, 2009 Even if I like very much 3dcoat and voxel sculpt(I'm trying now zbrush 3.5 and I find that voxel is giving yet more freedom in sculpting than the new zsphere) I don't understand this war flame. Every programs has it's own strength and weak points, they can be used both. So why this aggressiveness?
Contributor Tinker Posted September 12, 2009 Contributor Share Posted September 12, 2009 No agressive, on the contrary, i like Z-brush clips production work. Pixologic spend much time and money on agressive promotion. And i like Z-Brush itself. But i consider 3D-Coat more powerfull. Its just not so popular. Just wait till people taste it. philnolan3d
I think free webinars like the one Leigh did today are great since it gives people who might be curious a good look at it. I even heard someone during the webinar mention that they werren't a user but were curious.
Advanced Member Mykyl Posted September 12, 2009 Advanced Member Share Posted September 12, 2009 That free webinar finally opened my eyes about 3dcoat more. Just the resolution component of voxels explanation helped me a huge amount. Now I can sculpt smoothly. Cheers Mike R

philnolan3d
Does possible to see it free somewhere or must we pay now for that? I believe they said it will go up here: http://www.vfxcast.com/c/27/3D_Coat/ Someone's been posting tons of 3DC stuff up there. It'd be nice to get some credit for my stuff on there.
