Andrew Shpagin
The new 2.05 Beta3 is done. I think I will release 2.05 this monday. The list of changes: Curves improved very much: 1) some curve points could be marked as sharp. So you can make square forms in easy way. 2) whole curve could be moved/scaled/rotated using new navigation controls. 3) you can draw arrows in easy way. 4) new curve drawing mode - spacing mode. Points will be set along curve with some spacing and jittering. It allows to make new effects with cirves. Another changes: 5) new interface style. Interface looks now more clear and sharp. 6) speed improvements 7) SHIFT-constrains for mask rotation The link is below: http://www.3d-brush.com/files/3d-brush-2-05-beta3-en.exe

Advanced Member wailingmonkey Posted February 3, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 Really nice work on the curve enhancements, Andrew! (very smart to incorporate the move-rotate-scale as well) I think with the store/restore option, perhaps you should consider setting it up so that it's based upon your camera projection view when you 'restore'...I noticed that when moving curves with many points, they tend to get spaced out and lose their shape when moving over the object's surface. Tried out the spacing options and they open up some new possibilites. Nice job on the interface touch-ups also. In terms of the speed enhancements, I think there's still a pretty big penalty in using the (shift) Smooth tool...it's bordering on unusable with larger carcasses and I have trouble finding the right size to get realtime feedback without lag when using it. Starting to see lots of neat opportunities to get at designs with 3d-Brush! cheers. wailingmonkey
Member xrok1 Posted February 3, 2008 Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 excellent update! i found a problem, if i use layer1 to mask layer2, when i hide layer1 it also hides layer2. there is also a bigger problem if i delete layer1 any layer using layer1 for a mask becomes empty. this seems to be some kind of refresh problem because the info on layer2 is still there if i "edit in external editor" and if i go to layer2 masking and reselect "don't mask" the info reappears. Advanced Member rimasson Posted February 3, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 Did you changed something in your spline algo creation since 2.0 ? It seems that i can't create a curve anymore. even if i can load stored curves, and add point ON the curve (dosen' work for 2.04 Beta 2, and i don't have older beta to check WHEN exactly it happened.) i found also a bug with the equalize tool : after an equalize, some points don't stick to the surface, and i can't select them anymore. Thanks for comments. It is important before 2.5 will be released. I have several questions 1) What measns that yo can't create curves - does new point not arises on click? 2) Are you able to load old stored curves? Advanced Member rimasson Posted February 3, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 I discovered the origin of the bug : It happens ONLY when i use my Wacom intuos 3 (wacom driver 4.63-3, WInXP64 sp2, Quadro FX 1500, driver Nvidia 162.62) I can't almost create points on a new curve or on an existing curve) I'm able to load stored curves. and move and resize existing points The curve tool works fine when i use the mouse Besides that, all the other tools works fine with my wacom,
