  2. Wish I had seen this post before I asked my question on release cycles. Sigh. How do beta features apply to this 12 months updates cycle? If I was to purchase today would I lose features intended for the 2023 version that were currently stable in the 2022 cycle when it is released in 6 months or so? I guess what Im trying to ask in a very botched up way is, are all features that are classed as stable and no longer beta included in that 12 month cycle? I know beta features were removed in full releases in the past. Or that's how I remember it. If you can decipher what Im asking your a better person than me. lol Cheers Mike
  3. I want to upgrade from v 4 but don't want to upgrade halfway through the cycle. Does anyone know around about when the likely release schedule lies for 3dcoat 2022? I have lost my bearings on how the release cycle works nowadays. Apologies. I just realised I should have posted in the release section of the forum. Sorry Cheers Mike

  5. I have emailed sales but no reply so far. I don't want an additional licence of 3dCoat I just want to move my licence to PC as I no longer use my mac. What do I need to do to have it changed to Windows instead. Thanks Mike R
  6. How about an OSX version... Dont care if its 32 bit or 64 bit. Just one that works.

  8. I would have thought that if it was going to be tablet it would be ios and not android. All their other apps are ios. M
  9. Well thats a blast from the past. Was fun to use years ago. Here are a few models I made back then in Organica. You could choose the colour of your blob as you built your models. So no painting or anything like that. You build models with tubes and balls and planes and twisted them etc to your need. Was really fun to build models in. Fast as well for simple toon things. Mike
  10. I have had 3d-coat for a while now and I have regularly compared it to other apps with a preference for a certain other app in my posts on these forums. That changes now. 3d-coat is my first port of call from now on. I was not going to upgrade to v4 but now that also has changed. The interface changes are superb. The beta tools in 3.7 are astounding and when I finally tested the v4 beta, I am sold. So I thought I would start posting up things I am playing with. This little piggy started out using what I learned from the rat tutorials by Psmith. The rest just seems intuitive due to the cleaner interface. Rendered within 3d-coat. Loving it. Mike
  11. Tried to install this package myself in the latest mac beta of v 4 and the presets do not install. The brush shapes do but no presets. Ok. I know what I did wrong. I forgot to go into surface mode. All working perfectly. Thank you Mike

  13. http://www.allegorit...tent/b2m-mobile Came across this app for iphone or ipad and its perfect for creating brush materials for use in 3d Coat. Anything I think that looks interesting I take a photo of it with the app and it creates diffuse, height, specular etc maps from the photo. You can then export them for use within 3d coat. The 4 files added here were auto generated using this app. I did not use any of the tweaking abilities in the app. Hope it sparks some use for others. Mike

  15. Is there an issue with topo in the latest beta of 3dcoat on Mac? The mesh does not show up at all apart from around the edge of the model. Screenshot attatched. Ignore this. Just noticed I was not on the latest version. Its fine. Mike

  17. Remember that when the plugin arrives it will be in alpha initially. So I would expect some issues like the ear you pointed out. Will see how it plays out... and how much they are thinking of charging for it before declaring it as great or rubbish. Mike
  18. There are also folks who use it for illustration work (A lot of people) who don't care about having to pass it to some other 3d app. Not going to get into the who did what first nonsense. Its all irrelevant but just shows some people don't see the bigger picture and seem to want to start a mine is bigger type war. Both apps are brilliant at what they do and from someone who owns both the more they compete with each other the better for me. Mike
  19. My video card is an ATI 2600HD card. Seems strange it would work perfectly rendering with 32 bit if it was a graphic card issue. The issue with textures etc was nothing to do with display issues. It just never loads in folders of textures I want to paint with. Mike Mike
  20. It is a bit strange although I can now do something in 3dcoat with those 'fixes' for now. Bit surprised though that even a direct email to Andrew has resulted in no reply. That's a new turn of events. He had always been pretty on the ball in the past when issues were pointed out. I first mentioned those issues back in October or whenever and got a reply saying the mac person would look into it. I left it and as I said earlier thought I would try the 'final release' version 3.7. Got a shock to find no improvement in the issues I was having. Felt a bit like they forgot there was an issue. Then again I do still have another issue regarding loading in textures and alphas etc that was never fixed either. I gave up on that one and realised that 3d coat for detailing was just never going to happen so its zbrush for me on that side of things. 3dcoat for basic blocking in and retopology. Cant work with semi working apps at the end of the day. Mike
  21. Got fed up waiting and I hate to see 3dcoat rotting on my hD> the fixes for the above are. The opening files hanging 3dcoat happen if enable access for assistive devices is on in system prefs. Switch that off and no hanging. What is that option. I never switch it on yet other apps do. The render issue where everything is white is fixed by switching on 32 bit rendering. Without that it doesnt render anything. Just white space. Mike
