  1. Try changing Radius values, keys [ and ] or MMB (wheel ) //edit i am testing it on version 2021.51
  2. As you are assigning colors to each vertex, it depends on the number of vertices used the details that you can add. This is how it works in any software, not just 3DCoat. Make sure there are sufficient polygons to support the detail you want to paint. ------------- Related... Polypainting is an approach to texturing that lets you color a model by applying a single RGB value to each polygon vertex. This allows you to texture without the need for UV coordinates. By applying color directly to vertices, you also avoid the need to drop the model to the canvas while painting. All texturing can be done in Edit mode, and you can freely rotate around the model. Because the color is applied to each vertex, this means the resolution of the resulting texture is directly linked to the number of subdivision levels in the mesh. This means that a model of several million polygons can have a sharp, clear texture whereas a lower resolution level will have a softer texture with less detail.

  3. Version 2021.50 - Fixed problem related to migration master. First, the default source path is correct now. Second, copying smart materials is now correct, there was problem if the images was in folders named using the native language characters. The 4.9 uses ACP, 2021.xx uses UTF-8, so there was incompatibility in textures names. Now names converted correctly.
  4. On my previous post, i linked the thread to latest version 2021.49 3DCoat-2021-49.exe //edit I tested again Smart Retopo > loft and found it working fine from my side (on Windows version)
  5. Andrew replied about this: - Completely new folders structure. Really streamlined and logical as it was proposed in this thread. Almost all now is split between two folders - data and UserPrefs. As it is logical, - UserPrefs is user-created content. - Data is sort of temporary stuff. The folder in documents changed, now it is Docs/3DCoat-2021/. > C:\Users\username\Documents\3DCoat-2021 Even if the folders structure is changed it is compatible with the previous one. As soon as 3DCoat detects some files copied to the new location in Documents from the old one, it will convert the files to the new structure. Also, if you will install 3dcpack it will be installed correctly (except presets that use old tools that are not present in the toolset). So, to migrate from earlier beta you may copy folders from old beta to Docs/3DCoat-2021 or create 3dcpack in old beta and install using UI.
  6. Hi ! Open it again on Windows > Panels > UVpreview
  7. Turn this option active pressing "N" key. In this mode, you may use regular navigation rules to transform objects. Turn it off to navigate instead of the transform. Navigation through the navigation zone/icons may not be used for transforms, it navigates anyway.

  8. Sometimes Reset Settings helps. //edit Fixed on version 2021.71
  9. hmmm... Bug was reported anyway. If you begin a new fresh project using any default mesh picked from Start Up panel, clean tool is working fine ? Please send that file to support asking for help using Help Menu support Option. Thanks
  10. If model was scaled to non uniform scale And RMB > To global Space was not performed to avoid mesh distortion The brush is shifted away = bug confirmed Thanks for point it up
  11. Yes, reduce.mp4 Are you using a pen tablet ? Try switching to WinTab
  12. Modifying Preview opacity from 5% to 100% Cant see any difference -------------------- Shared Smart Material stone.3dcpack
  13. First test turning off all layers and creating a new one: Switch to View Mode Flat Shade The selected paint color and the painted color are the same.
  14. sorry about this, I am forwarding your issue to development team.
  15. Can you share the model and texture to take a look (PM)
  16. Bring external (high detail and low poly) models in and baking maps in 3DCoat ready for painting. Sending files from 3DCoat to Photoshop and setting up gradient maps as a first pass for painting.
