  1. hi, Greg...glad to see you were able to get some use outta the sky pics...am fixin to post some more sky pics very shortly...wanted to ask if it'd be ok to post this pic of yours with my sky pic threads ?...also wanted to let you know I just finished your terrain tutorial and am fixin to go post a thread cause thanks to watching your tutorial, I just finished my first real retopo ...I've watched several tutorials, but yours was the only one that seemed to register for some reason . ...b sure n lmk if it's ok to post your pics in my sky threads (n will also post a linkback to you with your pic if that's ok, but will need to know which link you'd prefer),,just lmk.
  2. @Drocket.... there are several differences between the intuos 4 and the bamboo fun ...here are the main reasons I went with the intuos 4 medium ; the 5-button mouse, the eraser tip pen, the airbrush pen, the inking pen and the art pen can only be used with intuos 4 generation tablets the intuos 4 has the Wacom Generation 2 Tip Sensor...the bamboo fun doesn't the intuos 4 has 5,080 lpi....the bamboo fun has 2,540 lpi the intuos 4 has tilt,(+/-60 degrees) the bamboo fun doesn't have tilt the intuos 4 has 2048 lop,...the bamboo fun has 1024 the intuos 4 has 8 Express Keys....the bamboo fun has 4 the intuos 4 has 8 Express Key Illuminated Displays....the bamboo fun has 0 the intuos 4 has Finger Sensitive Touch Ring.(up to four functions per application)....bamboo fun doesn't have that feature the intuos 4 has Radial Menus ....the bamboo fun doesn't have that feature the intuos 4 has Precision Mode.....the bamboo fun doesn't have that feature the intuos 4 has 14.6 x 10.0 x 0.5 in Tablet Dimensions (inches).....the bamboo fun has 9.8 x 6.9 Tab.Dim. as for jittering, the only time mine ever jittered was when I first got my wacom, had some settings adjusted too high, etc,,,but never have had probs with jittering again since adjusting the settings, as for the nibs, I've never had to buy/replace any of my nibs ever since I got my intuos 4,,n believe me, have put them thru some very extreme wear n tear (especially pressure-wise) when using them in some of my 3d/voxel programs. so at this point they appear to be indestructable. have also found that the pen, mouse & tablet are almost indestructable.(which is really a big plus considering how haphazard I can be,lol) .
  3. ok, thanks a bunch ! but plse post a link or email where folks can at least make donations .
  4. hi, lc8b105...that's pretty cool, n may be really useful when I get a chance to revamp my personal website..would also be useful for getting a preview of how one's game/screesaver,etc would look on various screens....how much are you asking for this little jewel ? .
  5. am using that option now. (wasn't til u mentioned it, tho)
  6. yep when one does a search for skulls, there are hundreds of variations of skulls with different proportions, diameters, etc., that pop up..
  7. there is one thing I've figured out,n that is that there are lots of variations in skulls...but if my skull were tilted backwards about a 1/2 inch, it would almost fit into your ref image's profile, but my skull would still need extending in the back section as calabi mentioned,,n tweaked in some other areas in order to fit that particular profile.....will keep working on it.
  8. thanks, digman...will post another update asap.
  9. @Liegh, Polygoon & Calabi...thanks.... @Calabi...sorry, but I had already upped the res before I got a chance to read your post ....here's an updated image of the sculpt...I raised the top of the skull a tad, but haven't adjusted the back yet....I've put the jawbone on a seperate layer,,will also put the teeth on a seperate layer, cause I'm sure it would be a battle trying to keep the top teeth n bottom teeth from blending right back into each other...still have some more fine-tuning left in several areas.. . . . .
  10. meant to say 'thank you'.....also it just dawned on me that if I plan on animating it later, then it will definitely need seperate layers
  11. I can hollow it out manually as it is, really, or create a shell of it by 'extracting skin', but when I started this sculpt, I had plans to make the skull as a base to add muscles/skin to, so it would be covered up,..but like I metioned, when I start back to work on it, I'll probably go ahead n create the seperate layer for the jawbone....
  12. been watching LJB's Sketchbook n was inspired to sculp this skull..it's completely from scratch, other than anatomy ref images that I looked at while sculpting ...(no projections used)..........am backtracking, really, cause figured if I'm going to try to sculpt human/animal characters, like the pro's n 'greats' say, it will help alot to learn/know their base structure first..so here I am at this point. I haven't upped the res yet, but have gone about as far as I can go without upping the res, so will do that when I start back to work on it,,also may create seperate parts/layers for certain parts of it. . . . . .
  13. looking good...would love to see a tutorial on this
  14. you're welcome ! (plse lmk if u have any probs with the zip files)
  15. wasn't sure where to post this, but here goes....I went to the Outback restaraunt the other day n had dinner with some of my family...soon as we were done n walked out to the parking lot, I noticed how beautiful the sky looked so I grabbed my kodak easyshare camera and took several pics...these are all jpegs, but of high quality...almost all of these images are 2048x1536 except for a few.....each image averages 670 kb......the first link contains a folder (30MB...51 pics) of sky pics that you can use just as they are, except a very few of them will need cropping, cloning, etc., to get the trees, buildings out of them....the 2nd link contains a folder (44 MB...70 pics) of the same sky pics that you can use just as they are, except there are extra pics that will need cropping, cloning, etc. so you'll get more pics in the 2nd folder, just a matter of whether you want to take the time to crop/edit them....(these are all royalty-free and can be freely used for non-commercial or commercial use) enjoy here are a few samples ; sky pics without objects(trees, buildings, etc) http://www.easy-share.com/1910271248/SkyPicsByMarySHines-01.zip sky pics with objects(trees, buildings, etc) http://www.easy-share.com/1910271657/SkyPicsByMarySHines-01a.zip
  16. I like...he looks like a happy, non-challant kind of guy...great sculpt
  17. I created these materials/textures in TextureMaker...some of them are seamless, and some aren't, even tho they may be titled as seamless (sorry bout that,,) you'll just need to test them....some of the images are around 512x512, some are about 1000x1000, n some are almost 3000x3000,,(may be a few that are close to 4000x4000, not sure)....3 folders at a total of est 90 mgs (about 30 mgs each folder)...some of them may be suitable for floors, walls, ground, etc....you're free to alter them any way you see fit for your personal or commercial projects..(would appreciate it if you would share the wealth with others by sharing the link to this post). ....also, if you like any of the samples shown on this page, they are included in the downloads, but if you want a small size, then you should rightclick on the image(s) you like n save them to your pc folders, cause the images shown here are app 540x540, but the smallest version of these in the folders are 1000x1000. if you find a use any of these, would be nice if you post back here n lmk, so I'll know whether to make the effort to keep uploading any future folders or not  .. well, enjoy http://www.easy-shar...711158/TEXTURES CreatedByMaryHines-Seamless-01-Part1.zip http://www.easy-shar...711583/TEXTURES CreatedByMaryHines-Seamless-01-Part2.zip http://www.easy-shar...711926/TEXTURES CreatedByMaryHines-Seamless-01-Part3.zip here are a few samples ; . . . . .

  20. perfect timing on this post, Phil..I had just ran across a link for CB yesterday n was planning on going back n checking it out more thoroughly today,..,,I have TextureMaker already, and it has oodles of great texture options, but always open for exploring more possibilities, so thanks for posting.
  21. I sculpted this penquin model n 3DCoat, then exported it to Vue 8 Esprit and animated it. ...it's still a WIP, ...still have alot left to do with this model. here's the link to the animation ; this next image shows my 3DCoat model being prepped for animation in Vue 8 Esprit...his black 'jacket' was added in 3DC, before exporting him to Vue.
