  1. A highly valid point - emphasis on pragmatic elegance is always an essential consideration for technology to become more invisible within the creative process.
  2. I thought it might be fun to start a thread where we each post images of 3D Forms that we have found recently and find inspiring. Mine: two ceramic artifacts from Ancient Iran. Even on site you can imagine how pleasing these would feel to your touch. They amazed me. Timeless. 1,Zoomorphic Vessel (Fallow Deer),1350-1000 B.C.,Northern Iran 2, Bull, Iran, 1350-800 B.C.
  3. Forget the monsters under the bed - these days all the baddies have English accents and wish to enslave North America with haughty theatrical tradition, tweed and tea drinking!!
  4. Thanks Ab, forgot that warp tool has a twist. That did the trick . I'd been trying the pose tool with far less success.
  5. What would be the best way of doing repeated twists through the center and length of a form?
  6. Thank you Andrew for taking the time to inform us of the positives of this situation. I look forward very much to trying the update. SERGYI , my thanks.
  7. Ah Mr Digman - thank you Sir!!! All is rosey with my posey once more.
  8. Any chance we can have the option to move freely/ live all epanel lasso mode selections until we let go of a shortcut key such as the tilde key? This function in Photoshop or ZBrush uses spacebar - but spacebar is used otherwise in 3dcoat. Whilst a good part of V4 at this stage is rightly squashing bugs I'd also like to see the rounding off of functionality when time allows.
  9. When I apply the pose tool it only seems to apply to the front facing surface and not go through the form - front to back facing to camera as I would wish. This is both in standard and surface voxel modes. Is this the new default behavior and if so how can I get it to go all the way through as before should i wish? Trialling lastest Mac v4beta5 but also noticed this change 3.7.12E
  10. I can't get my V4 Beta for the Mac to open - nor could I get the last V3 to open - quits unexpectedly before even launching i.e it doesn't launch Is there a minimum spec for the Mac build? My OS 10.5.8
  11. A refreshing take on buying software methinks. see details here: http://www.groboto.c...rs_3/index.html
  12. Looks great - it's really come on over the years. However........ The MacOSX build is limited to OS version 10.8. It may or may not work on 10.7, but earlier versions than that are not likely to work. IMPORTANT: Since targets have moved around and been regrouped, this release is not compatible with all models made by earlier versions of the program.
  13. Two great videos with discussion by the amazing talents of Ruben Procopio , Andrea Blasich, Damon Bard, Kent Melton, Jim Mcpherson, Raffaello Vicchionne, Michael Defeo, Bruce Lau and Doug Hild. To help you put names to work see here:http://animationmaqu...blr.com/archive 6 Sculptors: 6 Questions: Thoughts and Tips On Sculpting http://timbuktoons.c...rs-6-questions/ Clay Underneath My Nails: Digital and Traditional Discussed Some further links to broaden out http://kentmelton.blogspot.co.uk/ http://andreablasich.blogspot.co.uk/
  14. gotta love those old reviews http://www.atpm.com/4.10/page13.shtml
  15. Greg are you separating these out between open and closed workflows? By which I mean 3DCoat in typical/ common production scenario workflows as well as 3DCoat as an enclosed creative tool with it's own rendering solution? Not sure enough is made of the latter to draw a new audience although it is the former I'm sure that drives the sales for the present. Sadly my time only allows for the "as and when" videos that I pop up every now and then on Vimeo but it's great to see that this more encompassing task is being tackled at last.
  16. You are doing awesome work Sir . My respect and thanks for pointing out in particular the new features.
  17. The ultimate joy of creativity is to explore the nature of oneself and our unity to each other. At it's purest it is a meditation with a positive physical result. To journey or act becomes the obligation of the soul. For software too like art there is a resonant virtual memory, a force which drives technology to become convergent where understanding our commonality and unity creates the best solutions. We have a memory of even the new. We've never been here before but we know we have - otherwise why would we have so many opinions? :-) The force that drives creative software I believe is not for the new but the memory of the new - to allow the user to connect to the eternal. Art itself can never go beyond that which is true and it's why despite how technology advances and allows for ever greater visual permutations - art itself does not get better and hence why artifacts from ancient civilization's continue to hold such potent resonance. Music or art touches something that resonates with our virtual memory of the eternal . For the transitory there is no memory of the eternal there is only the scintillation of the surface. What is so wonderful about Andrew and Raul's work with 3DCoat , Ofer Alons with ZBrush, Tomas Pettersson's with sculptris and a host of other creators working convergently is- they are reaching for that resonance of what will be . With our thoughts we create the world as well as 3DCoat.
  18. How dare you Sir, I only drink yards of ale!! Digman - I'm pleased your marriage has been blessed with a license :-) Tony - I like it - trees you say?!!
