  1. Why did you not stay in 3d coat and paint your stuff there? Anyway, i have no solution for you.

  3. The support is right. The models are servicable, because in the game you dont see that bugs and problems. But to work with such a buggy model is hard and a problem for you. If you dont cant/want to create the UVs new, dont switch to PS and stay in 3d coat and paint your stuff there. As you see in ajz3d picture, it is possible to work with it, if you delete the overlapping stuff where it is not needed. What is your goal?
  4. No way. I cant get a clean result. Take a look at this. My import options If i fill the upper grip in front of the gun, i get some bleeding into other parts of gun. Same if i fill the magazine i get wrong colors on different parts, too. Here the wrong AO calculation. You see, this is not OK. For me it looks like the UVs are bas and wrong after import. Sure it is possible in the game engine it looks ok, but i have no idea how you could get a clean result with that UVs in 3d coat? Anyway. i am out. Maybe it is better you help Lofti if you get such a good result after your import. Looks like there is a problem on my side.
  5. @chingchong Nick Zuccarello und die Cyberfigur sind klasse. Habe ihn gesehen wie er es in Substance Painter texturiert alles mit Fill Layer und paar masken. Sowas wie Fill Layer wünsche ich mir ja schon lange für 3d coat. Ja, jeder Modus hat so seine Vor und Nachteile. Ich versuche jedenfalls immer so lange wie es geht im Voxel zu bleiben, und nur noch die letzten Details wie harte Kanten, extra Details und so im Surface Mode zu machen.
  6. No, not every software have an Applink. You still have to use fbx or obj for the exchange.
  7. Also ich habe zBrush 3.1 und R4 mal probiert als es noch eine Trial hatte, kam aber beides mal nicht wirklich mit dem Programm zurecht. UI ist beschissen, Sculpting fühlte sich nicht wirklich gut an und Painten schon zweimal nicht. Bin das zum Glück auf 3d Coat gestoßen und nutze es jetzt nur noch. Wobei ich auch sagen muss das mir der Voxelmodus um einiges besser gefällt als der Surfacemodus in 3d coat. Schade das die gesamte energie in den Surface Mode gesteckt wird.
  8. Sure you are right. Uvs and missing faces are a common way for game weapons. But as far as i see, You where only able to paint it, like in your test picture, if you import your UVs as tiles. And that negate the problem with overlapping UVs. If you dont use Import UVs as Tiles, it wents wrong. I cant get any good results in my tests. Anyway. in the newest Version of 3d coat the AO baking wents with Import as UV Tiles wrong too. How did you import it?

  10. @ajz3d Your mp4 wont works on my side. But anyway. @Lofit You have overlapping UVs. Sure they are outside of the grid, but they get used too. They act like tileable. The Red lower part is your buggy area that you show us with your black borders. Still a problem of your modell and not 3d coat. You could create your UVs new, or move the uv islands into another UV-set.
  11. Sorry Carlosan, but this have nothing to do with the probems Lofit have. Its about not importing textures and missing faces, but thats not a bug of 3d coat. @Lofit Take a look at this for importing texturs. That shows you (first 20 seconds) how to import textures manually. But the missing faces are still up to you.
  12. Ist leider so. Ich wechsle immer zu Blender wenn ich Quadratische UVs brauche. Wäre vielleicht wirklich was für Mantis und Trello.
  13. As far as i see, then yes. If you save your brush as Tool it is stored as new Tool with all informations of Material, Stencils and stuff like that. After you reload or open a new file, it you could use it for a new project or to work again with it. But there is no history as far as i see. If you work with 10 different Materials and stencils, you have to create 10 Tools.

  15. Zbrush flips the UVs while export. I think it flips the UVs again while import. Maybe there is an option where you could flip it in Zbrush. When not, flip your UVs in 3d coat and import it in Zbrush.
  16. Gibts so nicht. Du kannst schauen ob eine der Unwrap optionen einen halbwegs guten job erledigt. Aber wirklich genaue Rechtwinklige abwicklungen musst Du manuell machen. Da gibts eine straighten option, aber da musst Du halt jeden Loop einzeln ausrichten. Ist sehr viel aufwand.
  17. You could import your textures manually. or Export your file correctly from your 3d application. About the missing faces. You have to fix that manually in your 3d application. I am not sure if you could fix that witout Highpoly in Retopo Room.
  18. You have a wrong material assignment in your mtl file or is compledly missing. And your file is corrupt. There are missing faces all the way. I saw this if i import it in Blender. It is not 3d coat´s fault.
  19. If textures wont load in correctly, then maybe are your material assignment is wrong. Take a look at this. This is a quick video about how it works in 3d coat. The object have overlapping UVs and textures wont be loaded in correctly. Hope that helps.
  20. What you did in Blender is possible in 3d coat. 1. Open your Object in Paint Room and load in your textures. 2. Switch to UV Room and create your new UVs. 3. Klick on Apply UV-Set 4. Switch back to Paint Room and it is done. Much easier as in Blender.

  22. Come on AbnRager. You wrote it is a quircky and a fuss/messy way to work with it in common renders. Maybe thats true, i have no problems in Cycles with that. TimmyZDesign and i show you a way how you could work with that textures in your common renders. If you dont accapt that help it is your problem.
  23. Beim Import im Paint Room, wo man textur größe einstellen kann gibt es einen Haken für Triangulate. und Beim Baken vom Retopo Room in den Paint Room gibt es einen Haken für Triangulate. Triangulate ist englisch, nutze die deutsche Version nicht. Weiß also nicht wie Taros es benannt hat. Musst mal umstellen auf Englisch und vergleichen wo das ist und wie es auf deutsch heißt.
  24. Trianguliere einfach gleich in 3d coat. Dann sind deine Probleme gelöst. Nicht jedes Programm Trianguliert auf die Selbe Art und Weise. Man kann ja ein quad auf zwei arten zum tri machen und das bringt oft Probleme.
